Indian laptop brand Primebook is preparing to launch the Primebook 3 Max around 1st October 2026. This will mark the start of the company’s third-generation laptop lineup.

The new model gets a more powerful MediaTek Genio 720 processor, faster memory and an updated version of PrimeOS, Primebook’s Android-based operating system.

The timing is also important. Primebook 3 Max is expected to go on sale during the Flipkart Big Billion Days and Amazon Great Indian Festival, along with availability on the Primebook website and selected offline stores.

A more powerful Primebook 3 Pro is also expected to arrive later.

For students and first-time laptop buyers looking for something affordable, the festive sale period could make the Primebook 3 series even more interesting.

What Is New in the Primebook 3 Series

One of the biggest upgrades is the processor.

Primebook has moved from the MediaTek Helio G99 used in the previous generation to the newer MediaTek Genio 720 chipset.

The Genio 720 also comes with an NPU, or Neural Processing Unit. This is a dedicated part of the processor designed to handle AI-related tasks such as image processing, voice recognition and other on-device AI features.

Memory has also been upgraded.

The Primebook 3 Max comes with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM, replacing the older LPDDR4X memory used in the previous generation.

LPDDR5 is faster and more power efficient, which should help with multitasking, app switching and general performance.

Primebook claims the combination of the new processor and faster RAM can deliver up to 40 percent better performance compared with the Primebook 2 Max.

PrimeOS Gets PrimeOffice and Linux Support

Software is probably one of the more interesting parts of the Primebook 3 Max.

Primebook is introducing its own productivity suite called PrimeOffice, designed as an alternative to Microsoft Office for PrimeOS users.

PrimeOffice includes:

  • PrimeDocs for documents
  • PrimeSheets for spreadsheets
  • PrimePresent for presentations

These applications can work offline and will be available for free.

Primebook says PrimeOffice can handle more than 90 percent of the features available in Microsoft Office.

The company is also adding support for selected Linux applications and a Linux terminal.

Since PrimeOS is based on Android, which itself runs on the Linux kernel, Primebook is using this foundation to bring more desktop-style tools to the laptop.

Applications such as VS Code, GIMP, Firefox, Arduino IDE and Postman can be used on the system.

This could make the Primebook 3 Max more useful for students learning programming, developers and users who need tools that are usually difficult to access on an Android laptop.

PrimeAGNT Brings AI Into PrimeOS

Another major addition is PrimeAGNT, which Primebook describes as an operator AI.

Instead of only answering questions like a normal chatbot, PrimeAGNT is designed to perform multi-step tasks for the user.

In simple terms, the AI can interact with the operating system and help complete tasks rather than simply giving instructions.

Primebook is also introducing a PrimeSecurity application that can detect suspicious, fake or resource-heavy apps.

There is also a new Task Manager that lets users check CPU and RAM usage.

Primebook 3 Max Design, Display and Battery

The Primebook 3 Max comes with a metallic body, a slimmer design and a matte finish.

Connectivity has also been improved with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.

The laptop includes a full-function USB 3.2 Type-C port that supports charging, OTG and display output through HDMI.

Other ports include:

  • USB 3.2 Type-A
  • USB 2.0 Type-A
  • USB 2.0 Type-C

For video calls, the Primebook 3 Max gets a 5MP webcam capable of recording at up to 1440p at 30fps.

It also has dual microphones with noise cancellation and dual stereo speakers.

The laptop packs a 60.3Wh battery, with Primebook claiming around 12 to 14 hours of battery life depending on usage.

That should be enough for a typical college or office day without constantly looking for a charger.

How Primebook 3 Max Improves on Primebook 2 Max

The move from the Helio G99 to the MediaTek Genio 720 is the most important hardware upgrade, but it is not the only change.

The addition of LPDDR5 RAM should improve overall responsiveness, while the NPU gives Primebook more room to add on-device AI features.

Software upgrades could make an even bigger difference.

PrimeOffice gives users proper document, spreadsheet and presentation tools, while Linux application support makes PrimeOS more useful for coding and development work.

Primebook also says the Primebook 2 Max lineup and the upcoming Primebook 3 Pro will receive PrimeOffice through a software update in the coming months.

So, some of the new software features will not remain exclusive to the Primebook 3 Max.
