Now Karbonn mobiles have launched the Karbonn A30 another dual core handset running on ICS OS equipped with an 8MP rear camera. The A30 is listed on Saholic for Rs. 10,990 and shipping starts within 2 or 3 days.

For 10,990 consumers will also get a complimentary leather cover. Some of the specifications are not yet clear, but I believe it will compete with the Micromax A110. The amazing part is that the screen is 5.9 inches. The screen and the leather cover plus the price – clearly beats the A110.

The Karbonn A30 sails on a dual core 1GHz processor with I believe will have at least a qHD display to complement with the big screen size. The handset runs on ICS OS. Common features like 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm jack and micro USB port are included.

There is an 8MP rear AF camera with LED flash and a 1.3MP front camera. The battery is of 2500 mAh capacity. The internal storage, RAM and some more details are not known yet. Stay tuned for updates.

Karbonn A30 key features and Specifications

  • Dual SIM with dual standby running ICS OS.
  • Dual core (MT6577) clocked at 1GHz with PowerVR SGX 531 GPU. (Quadrant benchmark score is 2820.
  • 512 MB RAM, internal storage unknown. Micro SD card supported.
  • 5.9 inch capacitive touchscreen with 800×480 pixels.
  • 8MP rear, 1.3MP front camera. LED flash, video recording supported.
  • Sensors : Gsensor, light and proximity.
  • 2500 mAh battery.
  • Available in Black and White colours with Leather cover.
  • Price Rs. 10,990 (you heard read it right!). On Saholic.
  • Price now increased to 11,900.

Now when the specs are clear it seems the Micromax A110 is the best option. There is no difference between the Karbonn A30 and the MMX A110 expect for the screen size. Also 10,990 was a good price, but 11,900 makes me go back to A110.
