The latest tweet by Mo Versi VP Product Management at HTC has ruled out further updates for the HTC One 2013 smartphone. The HTC One recently got the Android 5.0 update, that was the last as per the company the handset will not get any further updates.

This could disappoint HTC One users. HTC however will provide Android 5.1 update to HTC One M7 (Google Play Edition). HTC One is currently priced at Rs. 32,000. It is powered by 1.7GHz qualcomm snapdragon quad core processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage along with 64GB micro SD card support.

The handset weighs about 143 grams and sports a 4.7 inch screen (1920 x 1080 pixels resolution) with gorilla glass 2 protection. Key attraction is the UltraPixel 4MP primary camera that captures 300% more light and 2.1MP front camera.

Additional features are 3G, 2G, NFC, Bluetooth 4, GPS, DLNA and Wi-Fi (a/ac/b/g/n). The 2300 mAh battery that this dual SIM handset houses gives about 18 hours of talk-time on 3G networks.

HTC One will not get future Software Updates

HTC One users have already got the Lollipop update but thatโ€™s it. Software update cycle for any smartphone is usually 2 years from the day it is launched after that manufacturers most likely will not provide any further updates.

  3. Dear gogi g ,Being a regular follower of your blog I have the following questions in my mind
1)Which handset you are using right now ??
2)Which brand you prefer the most ??
    Hope you will answer ..tks

    1. As of now I just switched from Infocus M2 to Galaxy A7 (working on the review). But standby handset am using is note Edge, Moto E.

  4. This is a problem with many android phones. Most of manufacturers do not provide update at all. And in case there is update it will be delayed and no update at all after 2 years!

Do they expect every one to buy expensive new phones every two years!!
