As promised XOLO today, rolled out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the XOLO One handsets. Users can get the update done over the Air (OTA) or they can download the file from XOLO’s official software update page.

Surprisingly the XOLO One is not even a part of the Android One family and yet they managed to roll out Lollipop (Android 5.0) today. Users who had purchased the Android one smartphones i.e. Micromax canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO etc. are still waiting for the 5.0 update.

If you own the XOLO One you can get the update done, now. With Lollipop users will get a new feel and look, fluid animation, new themes, widgets, colours etc. With Android 5.0 users will also be able to get the battery estimated time for discharging and the time it will take for charging to 100%. Overall performance including the battery backup should be slightly better as compared when using KitKat.

XOLO One lollipop update

XOLO One now runs Android 5.0 with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage. It sports a 4.5 inch screen with FWVGA resolution. There is 5MP rear camera, 3G is supported and other features are Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. This handset gets power from a 1,700 mAh battery.

One is priced at Rs. 6,599 available in different colours. It is not a new launch, but with Android Lollipop 5.0 it gets even better. In case you want to buy it the XOLO One is now available starting from Rs. 6,000.

  1. Hats off to xolo for this update, when xolo one released with same specs of android one, I thought xolo will copy lollypop update of android one & give it to xolo one but it has totally surprised me.& about bug fix updates don’t worry it will surely give update. Because in my opinion xolo gives updates in its every phones all can check xolo site every xolo phones have updates. My next phone will be surely xolo.

  2. Okay so I have updated it, and will let you know about the improvements

    1) Battery life improved a lot, i think almost 50-70% increase.
    2) Fluid and simple UI And Animations
    3) Phone response time gap also been improved.
    4) Front camera now gives crisp and detailed image, previously it produced blurry image.
    5) Others are the features which are available in other lollipop devices

  3. Really great update.. I used it dynamic status-bar, every thing goes fluid I really loved same on android one; )

  4. But Lollipop 5.0 is said to have a lot of problems. It is better to get a direct update to Android 5.02 which I can confirm works great(just got the update on an old Nexus 7 2012 16 gb) Battery life increased by up to 3 hours from KitKat and 2 hours from Jellybean, great image and video quality with a feeling of depth that was not there in 4.3 or even 4.4, average free RAM increased by about 75 mb, and super smooth operation and multitasking

Xolo may have provided the 5.0 update but they may not follow it up with any bug fix updates. So any problems you have you may be stuck with for a long time. The Android One series may receive an update later but any bug fix updates on top of the original update will be provided and the very first update(5.02 minimum) will have fewer problems.

So you’re still better off on Android One

    1. I am using lollipop on moto g (1st gen . Just flash your current Indian rom, install the Brazilian version kitkat 4.4.4 now download the lollipop rom and install it …quite easy.

  5. Google has cheated the android one buyer by saying that they will get the updates first for two years.

    1. No they only said that you will get updates for two years, not first. Also remember that they will give you bug fix updates on top of the original update. We’re currently on Android 5.02 not 5.0 and the Xolo One may never get there. So you’ll be stuck with the problems of the older update for ever. Android One will get the 5.02 update first and subsequent updates will also be available which is a much better deal

  6. most of the moto g 1st gen users are on latest 5.0.2 with the help of captured ota soak. .. & xolo is on 5.0 lol.. . so stop comparing crap xolo with moto…. everyone knows about the service centre of Xolo

    1. @aditya I can buy two xolo one smartphone @ a price of one moto – (2nd gen). Still 1K will be there in my hands and i can purchase a 10000mah power-bank.
And you are calling it crap. LOL to your moto g with 5.0.2 and that to on soak test.

  7. Android-one sux. I sold both my a1 and dream uno. The usp wasn’t followed, it was just a sick marketing policy. Just see, how easily we get fooled. Android-one apni duniya apni muththi..! 1st to get update..! no have.. must have..! all suck.!
