Tenda has launched the A18 (AC1200), this is a dual band range extender, and its price in India is Rs. 2,200. This is dual band which means that this extender supports 2.4GHz as well as 5GHz frequency band. So if you are using a dual band router and facing range issues then you should consider buying this extender.
Tenda A18 AC1200 as mentioned supports 11n: 2.412-2.484 GHz and 11ac: 5.15-5.25 GHz frequency bands. Most of the Wi-Fi extenders available in the markets are single band i.e. 2.4GHz, now this is good enough for those who are using single band router.
But in case if you are using dual band router then makes sense to use a dual band extender for better performance. Tenda A18 comes with 2dBi 2x external antenna – these are non-detachable. This unit can be used in AP or Repeater operating mode.
