With OnePlus 5 finally launched (still need to wait for official India price) the next question that will be in most users mind is – what is the difference between OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 3T?. So here is the comparison between OnePlus 5 and the 3T.

To start off both these handsets, the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 3T come with dual SIM slot without external card support. The screen is the same i.e. 5.5 inches 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, Optic AMOLED with 2.5D curved glass. The only difference is that the OnePlus 5 is Gorilla Glass 5 protected whereas the 3T is Gorilla Glass 4 protected.

OnePlus 5 (OP5) is light weight and slimmer as compared to OnePlus 3T (OP3T). Hardware is different – the OP5 is using Snapdragon 835 octa core whereas OP3T is Snapdragon 821 quad core powered, both 64 bit.

OP5 is packed with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB UFS 2.1 ROM and the OP3T comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB UFS 2.0 ROM. There is a big difference when it comes to camera. OP5 is using 20MP + 16MP dual cameras, front camera is 16MP. OP3T is using a single 16MP camera, front camera is 16MP.

Both handsets run Nougat out of the box. Other unique thing is the OP5 is using Bluetooth 5.0 and comes with 3 mic with noise cancellation.

I will have to check the OnePlus 5 to get a better idea about its performance and especially keen to see how the camera will perform.
