The Lenovo K900 sports a 5.5 inch screen with full HD resolution and powered by the Intelโ€™s 2GHz dual core (CloverTrail+) processor. ย This handset is expected to be launched on 10th May with a price tag of under Rs. 25,000.

The K900 sails on Jelly Bean 4.1.2 OS with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The dual core CPU as mentioned is Intel CloverTrail+ clocked at 2.0 GHz. The 5.5 inch IPS screen is with full HD resolution (1920x1080p ~400.53 ppi).

A 13MP auto focus camera with Sony Exmor RS BSI sensor is placed on the rear side with LED flash and a front camera is of 2MP resolution. The camera can record videos in Full HD resolution. Other standard features included are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, micro USB and 3.5mm jack. The K900 comes with a 2500 mAh battery.

More details will be available once the handset is launched. The price looks very good as compared to what the K900 is offering. The 2GHz CloverTrail+ could give a close competition to the Galaxy S4 with Octa CPU – in terms of performance. K900 Antutu score were above 25000.

There is a good / big price difference between the Lenovo K900 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 and if K900 gives a decent benchmark score as compared with S4, it could do wonders to Lenovo as A110 did for Micromax.

  1. Gogiji, thanks for suggesting ZINC Z100. Still today, no problem. Really good. Now i want to buy a mobile with turbo chipset and 2GB RAM and 13 MP camera. kindly suggest me a good mobile

  2. Hi Gogi, i’m from Kerala. I frequently go through your articles. They are very helpful for a smartphone enthusiast like me. I appreciate your great effort in doing a complete review of various smartphones. I request you to do a hands on review of lenovo k900 at the earliest. Thanks in advance

  3. Hi Gogi,
when is K900 getting launched in Indian market?
Hope its a dual sim mobile!

  4. latest update is that the India launch has been pushed back to probably 20th May.

  5. Hello Mr. Gogi..

I’m interested to get a TABLET with 10 inch display and call facility..

I like the overall features of LENOVO THINKPAD 1838RW9 Tablet. (Price- INR 22,500.)

    Have you reviewed this device????

Only 1 thing I don’t like in the Tab is that it comes with Android 3.1 (honeycomb) and not the latest Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) !! ๐Ÿ™ Though one of the users has to say that the device can be upgraded to Jelly Bean.

I’ve also checked out the SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 800. (Price- INR 34,500.)

Though it is loaded with better features, but the price appears to be much higher than it should be.. Moreover, some users have to say that due to low ppi the display of the Tab looks bad and pixelates.

Does’nt Apple manufacture any Tablet with call facility??? :/

QUESTION:- Which one would be a ‘smart choice’ ?? (also considering the price difference of Rs12,000)

    Lenovo Thinkpad 1838RW9

    Samsung Galaxy 800?

  6. Dear gogi,
in another website, it is told that LENOVO is going to launch s920 model with quadcore, 5.3″ hd (720p) display WITHIN PRICE RANGE OF Rs.12000 to Rs.15000/-. IS IT TRUE GOGI?

        1. Well you see the black pixel never light up on Amoled screen it looks pure back and saves power. On non AMOLED screen black pixels are lighted up (though still black). If you have a pure black image and put that on both AMOLED and NON AMOLED screen the AMOLED handset will look as if its switched off.

  7. bro rajeev, while I am too frustrated with chinese military’s unprovoked show of strength, boycotting chinese products will hardly make any difference and we will be punishing innocent chinese companies. besides ,to what extent will you boycott? that beautiful dell laptop you’re looking at ,is made in china, your stunning samsung tv is made in china, maybe assembled in india, but almost all parts are sourced from china. only way to counter china is keep our borders well guarded!! but we indians are the slowest learners.
have we taken adequate steps so that 26/11 and 26/7 never happen again? we know the answer to that question.
    rant over. bless you lad.

    1. Chinese would be experts in making out towns like shanghai the desi politicians, who just make promises of doing this.

  8. Indians should be seriously considering to stop buying Chinese goods(Including micromax like stuff) especially when the Chinese have made large incursions in to Indian territory a week back.

    1. bhai mmx, karbonn, lava, spice are not chinese brands..
      these are indian brands man,!

      1. hahahahahaha nadia all the brands are just china re-brands with warranty provided so one can call them indian but at heart they will always be Chinese.

      2. Yes, you are right, these are indian companies but they are importing phones from china and re-branding as MMX, Karbonn, Lava, Fly etc.

      3. Indian brands but all of these are made in China. Even your iPhone and a few other smartphones are all made in China. So boycotting means not buying almost any of the electronic devices. Think before you speak @rajeev.

  9. Dear Gogi sir, what is the over all response to the s4 from public? is it doing a brisk business or response is so-so? do u think price will come down in near future?

  10. Gogi, I heard that all applications of Android are build based on ARM platform, but this mobile has x86 platform. is this thing will have impact on compatibility issue for some application. Specially games, as most of games have compatibility issue even on same x86 platform for computers. Kindly give your thoughts on it

  11. Price in China is approx $535, approx INR 28K – with duty etc it shd be 32 at least in India. Still confused b/w this , Xperia Z and Nexus 4.

  12. Specs of Lenovo K900 is very attractive. gogi ji suggest me go for Nexus 7 3g or Lenovo K900????????

  13. Hi gogi, pls update the article , this phone is having 2500 mAh battery. It’s not mentioned in ur article.

  14. Sir is LAVA iris 455 capable of playing high end games. Is it really a good price in terms of what we are getting in the handset.. Is Power VR SGX531 GPU good for gaming.?

  15. Xolo X1000 is such a big fail in front of this! ๐Ÿ˜€
And Gogi, its actually Android 4.2 OS out of the box not 4.1.2 ! Check again! And also it has Gorilla Glass! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Aditya, “More details will be available once the handset is launched”, until then its good to know it has Gorilla Glass but lets wait for official specs.

    1. Bcoz the tiny beauty has been contained in a body with 6.9mm thickness.

  16. You know Gogi a really strange issue that every phone be it HTC One or the S4 or this Lennovo whenever they are benchmarked becomes very very hot…true for gaming too…Now my question aren’t we then better off with the likes of note 2 and quad core because no matter what the specs we cant enjoy gaming on a phone that we can’t get a good grip on because it is too hot right?

    1. Amartya, unfortunately its the same in many handset, I would say in all handset. When playing games the CPU / GPU is used at its max and hence the device gets hot and battery also drains faster. Much of it depends on the game, you will find the handset does not heat up much when playing Angry birds but when you play action games like Nova 3, MC3 etc it gets hot.

      1. I have used a S3,an Ion HTC desire and finally a Note 2(current) but they are good.My battery temperature remains around 45C for most of the hour when am playing NFS Most Wanted but in the s4 Octa at a demo unit which had NFS installed i played for 5 mins and bam it was so hot that I had to stop and come out and when i checked the battery stats it was 52C…(rise of temp from the first time I checked by 23C). My question to you is that is this new gen 1080p phones underpowered or is these phones so bad at thermal conduction? It reminds me of the days when I used to overclock my Phenom II and that had this sort of temperatures. This is the same situation for HTC one and experia z also as far as I have gathered from reviews

        1. It could either be related to thermal conduction. I heard about some sponge like stuff (that reduces heat built up) is placed near the areas that heat up. It could also linked to the games that may need optimization for octa core devices.

    2. Then better buy a MT6589 device! Doesn’t heat much at all.! Though not the best performer, still you can get a smooth gameplay even with the high graphic games like Gogi mentioned.!

      1. Am quite happy with my Note 2 and its S pen thank you….Its not that MTK6589 is bad (I jumped a lot when Umi x2 was announced but that is another story……)but it is really still not optimized and has huge load times and the graphics is a bit jittery too on NFS and Nova 3 and the multi tasking is plain bad with lags when 4 apps are open

  17. sir is Lenovo K900 a dual sim phone ?

    sould you please confirm sir..

      1. No, not all. Specially the high end(Chinese) ones are single sim. If dual sim, than waiting to buy this monster, just has to have a reasonable battery life.

        1. I think it has a 3100 mAh battery! Should be enough for medium to high usage!

          1. Really.please check Xolo X1000 and specification on any reputed site.

          2. wow I am pleasantly surprised! thanks for sharing the specs.
I am now hopelessly in love with this phone!
