Intex has launched the Intex Aqua HD smartphone running on Android 4.2.1 with 1GB RAM and powered by MT6589 quad core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. Aqua HD also sports a 4.7 inch screen with (as the name suggests) HD resolution.

The Aqua HD is priced at Rs. 15,900 and comes powered by the same hardware that is used on the Lava Iris 504q and the MMX A116. The price is a bit on the higher side moreover the TFT screen is of a smaller size – 4.7 inches with 1280×720 pixels resolution.

It’s a dual SIM handset (Mini SIM + Micro SIM). Intex Aqua HD also comes with dual cameras – 5MP on front with native video call support and 13MP on the rear with LED flash. I believe Full HD video recording and playback should be supported.

Other features are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS – A-GPS with Google Maps, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB port. There is proximity, light, gyro and accelerometer sensors. The Aqua HD comes with 1800 mAh battery and as per the company it gives 5 to 6 hours of talk time on a full charge.
