This Amazon Kindle sports a 6 inch screen supporting 800 x 600 pixels resolution. It’s a glare free screen that looks like real paper. You can even read contents under direct sunlight. The screen is easy on the eye and creates crisp text as seen on physical books.
This device comes with 4GB of internal storage space that is more than enough to store thousands of books. Weight with battery is 191 grams and thickness is 10.2mm. Users also get access to Amazon free cloud storage.
It takes about 4 hours to fully charge this device using computer’s USB port and on a single charge it will last for up to 4 weeks (with half hours of reading per day). There is built in WiFi, you can use that to download more books from Amazon.
The 6 inch Kindle is now available on Amazon for ₹5,999.
Buy Kindle Paperwhite instead(around 11 k) That has a front light which enables you to read at night as well. This does not have it.
There are 4 advantages to a Kindle device as opposed to an Android smartphone or tablet
1) Battery life is excellent(about 25 hours onscreen, 4 weeks standby) and can be charged from the 1 A output of any powerbank
2) No distraction of internet and social media. You can sit down and actually read which you rarely do when the internet is available.
3) In brightly lit conditions, say for reading on a terrace or outside, it is vasrly superior because of electronic ink technology. So you can read and also enjoy pleasant weather.
4) In general, specifically designed for reading and causes zero eye strain, unlike any backlit device.
Besides, you can transfer books through your computer via USB and also online through your Amazon cloud to which you can upload books through the free Kindle app available for Android. No need to buy everything you want to read from Amazon.
Also any book in any dedicated ebook format you have like epub, fb2 etc can be converted to a Kindle readable format like mobi or azw easily(along with hyperlinks, TOC etc) through the website Convert.files. Even pdfs can be read though the lack of a reflow feature means that most pdfs don’t look good on a Kindle, unless they come with a really big font by default.
If you are a fan of general reading – detective stories, thrillers, horror, science fiction, true crime and general non-fiction – then most books are available in dedicated ebook formats (Plenty of these books are lying around free on the internet if you know where to look) Only technical books are either not available or really unsatisfactory as nobody has learnt to format those correctly for dedicated ebook formats.
Overall a must buy for avid readers(Kindle Paperwhite that is, not this one)
Does it support Hindi fonts and pdf files? Will you review it?
We can dwnld books only from Amazon website or any other ?
