Xiaomi has announced the Xiaomi Redmi Note in China for $130. The handset comes powered by octa core processor and runs on customized android 4.2. This is a dual SIM handset with TD-SCDMA support, the international version (WCDMA) will be launched soon.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note will be available in two different Octa core variants. The 1.4GHz will cost $130 and the 1.7GHz will be priced at $160. The handset houses the MediaTek MT6592 chipset coupled with Mali 450 GPU.

Redmi Note sports a 5.5 inch IPS screen with HD resolution. As mentioned its dual SIM running MIUI version 5 which is a customized version of Android 4.2. There is 1GB RAM (for 1.4GHz) / 2GB RAM for (1.7GHz) and 8GB internal storage. Micro SD card of up to 32GB is supported.

The handset also houses dual cameras – 5MP on the front and 13MP f2.2 AF on the rear with LED support. Full HD video recording and playback is supported. Key features are 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

The Redmi Note comes with a 3200 mAh battery. The handset will hit the Chinese stores by end of March ’14 and no words yet as to when it will be released in the International markets. The price tag is very tempting, unfortunately Xiaomi is not active in India, they are yet to set up the base in India.
