The Vivo T5 5G is now official in India and joins the T5 family, which already has the T5 Lite, T5e, T5x and T5 Pro. The phone comes in Royal Bronze and Silver Green colours, with a curved back and curved display giving it a premium look.
Curved displays are quite common in this price range now, but the design still looks attractive and feels good in the hand. Inside the box, Vivo includes a transparent silicone case, SIM ejector tool, USB cable and a 44W charger. This means you get all the basic accessories needed to start using the phone.

The overall build quality feels solid. At the back, Vivo has gone with a circular camera module, a design we have already seen on several recent Vivo smartphones.

Design and Display
The Vivo T5 5G features a large 6.83-inch 3D curved AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. In simple terms, 1.5K gives you more pixels and better sharpness than a regular Full HD screen, without going all the way up to a 2K resolution.
The display supports up to a 144Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling, animations and supported games look very smooth. Vivo also claims peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, which should make the screen easier to see outdoors under bright sunlight.
You also get stereo speakers, but there is no 3.5mm headphone jack.
Another useful feature is the IP68 and IP69 rating. IP68 offers protection against dust and water, while IP69 adds protection against high-pressure and high-temperature water jets.
Performance and Software
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo, a 4nm processor designed to handle everyday use, multitasking and gaming comfortably.
It comes with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Vivo claims the phone can score up to around 1.2 million points on AnTuTu.
However, actual benchmark results can be lower than company claims. In testing, the Vivo T5 5G scored closer to the 10 lakh mark, which is still quite good for a phone in this segment.
Storage read and write speeds were also good during testing. Faster storage helps with app loading, installations and moving large files.
The phone runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. There are quite a few pre-installed apps, but thankfully, most of them can be removed.
Vivo is promising three major Android OS updates and five years of security updates, giving buyers decent long-term software support.
Camera and AI Features
The Vivo T5 5G gets a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with OIS. OIS, or optical image stabilisation, helps reduce hand movement while taking photos and recording videos, resulting in sharper images and steadier footage.
The main camera is joined by an 8MP ultrawide camera. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera.
Portrait photos look good, with natural-looking skin tones and clean background separation. Vivo has also included multiple camera filters that can quickly change the overall look and mood of a photo without requiring additional editing.
Both the front and rear cameras support 4K video recording at 30fps, which is a useful feature for people who regularly shoot videos or create social media content.
There are also some interesting AI features inside the recorder app. The phone can add smart labels to recordings, convert voice recordings into text and automatically create summaries of meetings or lectures.
These features can be especially useful for students, professionals and people who attend long meetings or calls.

Battery and Charging
Battery life is one of the biggest highlights of the Vivo T5 5G. It packs a huge 7,050mAh battery, which should easily handle a full day of regular use.
With lighter usage, getting around a day and a half should also be possible.
Vivo includes a 44W charger in the box, so you do not need to purchase one separately.
What is more impressive is that despite having such a large battery, the phone is only around 7.9mm thick. It does not feel as bulky as you might expect from a smartphone with a 7,050mAh battery.

If you are choosing between the T5x, T5 5G and T5 Pro, the T5 5G sits somewhere in the middle. Its main attractions are the 144Hz curved AMOLED display, Dimensity 7500 Turbo, 50MP Sony camera with OIS and massive 7,050mAh battery.
Overall, the Vivo T5 5G offers a strong mix of display quality, performance and battery life. However, with prices going as high as Rs 49,999, choosing the right variant becomes important, especially when there are several powerful alternatives available in this price range.
