Samsung has announced two new low cost handsets, the Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo and the Samsung Galaxy Star that will hit the Indian markets soon. The pricing details are not disclosed but it is expected to be well under Rs. 7,000.

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo
This is a dual SIM handset powered by a single core processor clocked at 850 MHz running on Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) OS with 512MB RAM and 4Gigs of internal storage. The TFT LCD touchscreen will be of size 3 inches with 320×240 pixels resolution.

Other features are 2MP rear camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, micro USB, 3.5mm jack and GPS. The handset will come with 1200 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Star
This one is also with a 3 inch screen with 320×240 pixel resolution but comes powered by a 1GHz single core processor. Galaxy Star runs on Android 4.1 OS with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. The handset is 11.9mm thick and weighs around 100 grams.

Other features included are 2MP rear camera, dual SIM support, FM radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 2G support (EDGE / GPRS), micro USB and 3.5mm jack. There is no 3G and built in GPS support.

Samsung galaxy star and Samsung Galaxy pocket neo

These handsets will be available soon and will have to wait for the price confirmation. Looking at the specs and considering the Samsung Brand I believe the price should be around Rs. 5K.
