Massive 10,000mAh Battery on the Pro Max
Battery capacity is one of the biggest highlights of the Redmi Note 17 Pro Series.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max gets a huge 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W Xiaomi HyperCharge support.
The regular Redmi Note 17 Pro is not far behind. It comes with a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and supports 67W HyperCharge.

Silicon-carbon battery technology allows manufacturers to fit more battery capacity into a relatively compact body compared to traditional graphite-based batteries.
Both phones also support wired reverse charging, so they can be used like a power bank for smaller devices such as earbuds, smartwatches or another smartphone.
The Pro Max supports up to 27W reverse charging, while the Pro supports 22.5W reverse charging.
Xiaomi is also including the full-speed charger inside the box with both models.
Titan Quality Adds Serious Water and Drop Protection
Xiaomi is promoting the durability of these phones under its Titan Quality branding.
Both devices come with Double Five-Star Quality Certifications from SGS and TÜV. The front is protected by Corning Gorilla Victus 2.
They also carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings.
That means the phones are designed to handle dust, rain, accidental water immersion and even high-pressure hot water jets.
This kind of protection is still uncommon on many smartphones in this price range.
6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED Display
Both smartphones feature a large 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED Super Sunlight Display.
The panel offers a 2772 x 1280 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 12-bit colour depth.
Peak brightness can reach 3,500 nits, which should make the display easier to see outdoors under bright sunlight.
Xiaomi has also included TÜV Triple Eye Protection with hardware-level low blue light technology to help reduce eye strain during long usage.
Another useful feature is Wet Touch 2.0, which allows the touchscreen to continue working properly even when your fingers are wet.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max additionally supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, making it better suited for watching supported movies and streaming content.
Redmi Note 17 Pro and Pro Max Camera Specifications
The camera setup is one area where Xiaomi has made a clearer distinction between the two models.

Camera features include Live Moments, HDR, Portrait Mode, Ultra HD Mode and Panorama.
There is also an Underwater Mode, although Xiaomi says this feature will arrive later through an OTA software update.
Snapdragon Chipsets Power Both Phones
The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor.
It is based on a 4nm manufacturing process and can reach clock speeds of up to 2.6GHz. Xiaomi has paired it with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage.

The regular Redmi Note 17 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, which can reach speeds of up to 2.4GHz.
It comes with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The Pro Max therefore has an advantage not only in processing power but also in RAM and storage speeds.
For audio, both phones feature stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio.
Xiaomi is also claiming up to a 400% volume boost compared to a regular single-speaker setup.
Connectivity features include 5G SA and NSA support, dual-band Wi-Fi and an IR blaster that can be used to control compatible TVs, ACs and other appliances.
Both smartphones also use an in-display optical fingerprint sensor.
Android 16 With HyperOS 3
The Redmi Note 17 Pro and Pro Max ship with Android 16-based Xiaomi HyperOS 3.
Xiaomi has promised four years of software updates along with six years of security updates.
That makes the long-term software support an important advantage for buyers who plan to use the phone for several years.
