Fitbit Edge India Launch Date and Expected Price
Google has not confirmed an India launch date. The Fitbit Air took several months to arrive in India after its US release, but that is not a guarantee for the Edge. The earlier Fitbit Air India launch gives some useful background.
Based on the Fitbit Air pricing difference, the expected Fitbit Edge India price might be around ₹19,999 to ₹22,000. A tipster has also mentioned a figure close to ₹22,000. These are estimates and should not be mistaken for official prices.

Large OLED Display and Comfortable Design
Google says this is its largest and brightest tracker display, with 46% more viewing area than previous Fitbit bands. The Hybrid OLED panel makes workout data and health readings easy to check. A real side button is handy when you need to pause a workout quickly.
The aluminium case is 11.5mm thin, and Google says it is 45% lighter than the Apple Watch Series 12 case. There are several clock faces and interchangeable bands to match different styles.
Built-in GPS and Fitness Tracking
The built-in GPS records outdoor runs and rides without needing a phone. Google claims up to 40% improved tracking accuracy compared with earlier trackers. The new GPS chipset and antenna design help map your route.
An altimeter measures elevation changes during stair climbs or hill runs. The Edge supports more than 50 exercise modes with real-time pace, heart-rate zones and lap information. Automatic activity recognition can categorise up to 100 kinds of workouts, even when you forget to start tracking manually.
ECG, Heart Rate, Sleep and Health Guardian
The tracker has an ECG app for checking heart rhythm, continuous optical heart-rate tracking, a skin-temperature sensor and sleep analysis. Overnight heart-rate variability, also called HRV, adds context to recovery scores.
Health Guardian watches for changes in wellness patterns, including blood-pressure trends, insulin-resistance trends and unusually high or low heart rates. These are not clinical measurements, diagnoses or a replacement for medical advice. Health Guardian and ECG availability can vary by country, so their India availability needs confirmation.
Google Health Coach and Premium Subscription
The Gemini-powered Google Health Coach explains health and exercise data in simpler terms, suggests changes to training routines and provides context for health conversations. Some coaching tools need a paid Google Health Premium plan. Google includes three months with the Fitbit Edge.

Seven-Day Battery and Replaceable Battery
Google advertises up to seven days on one charge, although battery life will depend on usage and settings. Five minutes on its magnetic charging cable can provide up to a full day of use.
The Edge is Google’s first repairable fitness tracker. Its modular design includes a replaceable battery, which could help owners keep using the device after the original battery ages.

Colours, Bands and Stephen Curry Edition
The four finishes are Obsidian, Fog, Olive and Canyon. Google offers interchangeable Active Sport, Performance Loop, Magnet and Metal Links bands, although some options are coming later.
The Stephen Curry Edition uses a water-repellent, moisture-wicking band in rye and orange colours. It is priced at $219.99 in the US.
Features Missing From Fitbit Edge
This is designed mainly for fitness rather than as a full smartwatch. Earlier reports suggest it lacks NFC payments, a microphone and a speaker, but these details are not listed in Google’s announcement. Confirm these points before buying. Google does confirm Google Maps, media controls and call and message notifications.

The Fitbit Air is better suited to people who prefer an unobtrusive, screenless tracker. The Edge is more useful for checking live exercise data and notifications. Both fit into Google’s new health platform, covered in our Fitbit Air Google Health update.
Fitbit Edge vs Charge 6
The older Fitbit Charge 6 still has NFC support for payments. The Edge adds a bigger screen, physical button, improved GPS accuracy and a replaceable battery. You can compare Charge 6 prices.
Fitbit Edge vs Google Pixel Watch 5
Google is positioning the Edge between the screenless Fitbit Air and the more advanced Pixel Watch 5. The watch has a fuller smartwatch experience, while Edge focuses on fitness, comfort and battery life. Should You Wait for the Fitbit Edge?
For someone looking for a slim tracker with GPS, ECG, a readable screen and long battery life, the Fitbit Edge is worth considering. The repairable battery is especially welcome. However, Indian buyers should wait for confirmed local pricing and supported health features. Meanwhile, you can follow Fitbit Edge listings.
