Redmi 4 Unboxing and First Impression

By Gogi Rana on May 16, 2017 75 Comments

The Redmi 4 has been launched in India. Though it is called the Redmi 3S successor, there is not a big leap when it comes to hardware upgradation.  The price however is quite tempting – Redmi 4 price in India starts from Rs. 6,999.

Unboxing the Redmi 4

Do check the unboxing video at the end of this article. Inside the box you will get the handset (will be available in 2 colors black and gold), SIM Tray ejector pin, user guide, warranty card, data cable and travel charger.

The Redmi 4 is using Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa core processor  and sports a 5 inch 2.5D curved screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. There is 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, dual SIM slots (hybrid) and 4G VoLTE support. A 4100 mAh battery powers this handset.

When you look at the screen under light you might see some lines on the screen that is normal and not a manufacturing defect.

Redmi 4 Unboxing and First impression

There are 3 variants of Redmi 4 and only difference is RAM and ROM. All these Redmi 4 smartphones come with finger print sensor and IR blaster.

Coming to the price Redmi 4 with 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM price is Rs. 6,999, 3GB RAM, 32GB ROM price is Rs. 8,999 and 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM price is Rs. 10,999.

The 2GB/3GB RAM variant will go on sale from 23rd May 2017 on Amazon and Mi.com (12 noon), the 4GB Redmi 4 variant will be available by June end.

Full review coming soon.

For your kind of usage 2GB is more than enough. Even on 2GB you can multitask to a very good extent.

Most of the people in this forum recommend to go for Note4, but we ‘ve to keep the ease of use in mind too, With a 5 inch screen, it is very easy to use with one hand. Imagine you are travelling or searching on google on the go, 5 inch screen will be always handy

One thing is for sure…Redmi phones still lags a notch behind in terms of build quality. Hopefully they might improve in their future Redmi series launch.
