Qualcomm has unveiled a new technology called Qualcomm Clear Sight that is powered by Qualcomm Spectra Image Signal Processor (ISP). This technology will drastically improve smartphone camera quality.
Qualcomm Spectra will improve photo dynamic range, increase sharpness with less noise in low light conditions. The Clear Sight technology mimics human eye delivering optimal brightness and contrast as seen by a human eye.
There are two camera and each of these cameras come with their own image sensor and lens. One camera sensor mimics cones and the other black and white mimics rods. This works somewhat similar to as seen on the Huawei P9 dual camera smartphone.
Now this technique not only helps shoot good quality pictures in well lit environment but also does extremely well in low light environments.
The Qualcomm Clear Sight technology is supported on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 / 821 chipsets. There is a core dedicated for the cameras. Spectra ISPs inside these processor will merge, process data from both cameras delivering high quality photos that looks great even when shot in low light conditions.
