Olympus today launched the E-M5 Mark II mirror-less camera for Rs. 74,990 (body only). This camera also comes with the world’s most powerful image stabilization system that will enable users to shoot amazing pictures / videos in low light conditions and even without a tripod.

Olympus E-M5 Mark II compact body / Lens system is dust and splash proof. The camera comes loaded with easy to use UI. It can shoot in 16.1MP resolution (Live MOS sensor system). There is an option to capture images is very high resolution 40MP – in this mode the camera will capture 8 images and merge them into a single image of 40MP resolution. The 40MP mode is ideal for landscape / art shots.

As mentioned the body itself will cost Rs. 75K and consumers will need to pay extra for the lens, there are over 40 different types of lens that are compatible with E-M5 Mark II. This camera sports a 3 inch touch screen and can shoot Full HD videos of up to 60FPS. Max ISO is 25600.

Other features are amazingly fast AF, 14 built in art filters, HDR mode (HDR-BKT), Photo story mode where in camera will shoot multiple images of same scene and create single image, Olympus image share and built in Wi-Fi.

  1. At this price one can go for Sony A6000 with an extra lens or two. When it comes the image quality, low light performance and on sensor phase detection autofocus. Only con is the Sony lens system isn’t as mature and the Olympus build quality is fantastic with weather sealing. I love the micro 4/3 system. I think it is perfect balance of sensor and lens size. I have the Pen E PL5 and I just love it. I am only worried about the ass just in case.

    2. @prashant,this a professional camera….not a regular point and shoot that we carry in pockets. the kind of feature it has makes it worth the price for professionals.
