Good news for those waiting for the Google Nexus 7 tablet, it’s now listed on Google Play for Rs. 15,999 and shipping starts from 5th April 2013. The thin, portable and light weight tablet sports a 7 inch screen and is powered by quad core processor.

You might not see the Nexus 7 tablet listed on Google play if you are accessing it via an android device. Try play.google.com via PC and you will see the Google Nexus 7 with shop now option, you can buy online plus shipping will cost extra.

Even before the official availability in India via Google the Nexus tablet were already selling on ebay for around Rs. 20,000. This tablet comes with IPS backlit display with scratch resistant corning glass. The supported resolution on the 7 inch screen is 1280×800 pixels (216ppi).

The tab weighs 340 grams and is 10.4mm thick. There is 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The Nexus 7 runs on Jelly Bean Android 4.1 OS powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad core processor. There is no Built in 3G support. Other connectivity options are Wi-Fi, NFC (Android Beam), Bluetooth, a front 1.2MP camera and micro USB port.

A good 4325 mAh battery gets the tablet going for almost 8 hours non-stop with moderate usage on a single charge. As for the sensors there is Accelerometer, GPS, Gyroscope, NFC and Magnetometer (as mentioned on the nexus detail page on Google play).

For the price of Rs. 15,999 this looks good, yes the screen is small at 7 inches and you can get a bigger screen tablet for around the same price. But for brand conscious uses the Google Nexus 7 is here in India.
