Motorola has officially launched the Moto Edge 70 Pro Plus in India today, June 4, 2026, pricing it at Rs 47,999 for the sole 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. First sale kicks off on June 11 via Flipkart and Motorola.in. This is the first-ever Pro Plus model in the Edge series, and it brings a proper periscope telephoto camera to the lineup something the Edge 70 Pro noticeably lacked.

At this price, the Edge 70 Pro Plus steps into genuinely competitive territory against the OnePlus Nord 6, iQOO Neo 10, and Samsung Galaxy A56. Here’s everything you need to know.

Display: Quad-Curved AMOLED That Goes Bright

The 6.8-inch 1.5K Extreme AMOLED panel here is one of the phone’s strongest selling points. A 2772 x 1272 resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate and an absolutely wild 5,200 nits peak brightness that’s genuinely flagship-level, and it shows in direct sunlight. The four-sided quad-curve design keeps bezels almost nonexistent, giving it a screen-to-body ratio of 96.8%.

You also get HDR10+, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, 10-bit color depth, and Pantone SkinTone validation for accurate skin tones in photos and videos. The touch sampling rate goes up to 360Hz, and Water Touch technology keeps the screen responsive even with wet hands. Gorilla Glass 7i protects the front.

Processor and Performance

Under the hood sits the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. Motorola claims up to 25% higher peak performance and 30% better power efficiency over the previous generation. The RAM Boost feature can temporarily convert storage into virtual RAM to keep more apps alive in the background useful if you’re a heavy multitasker.

The phone ships with Android 16 out of the box, and Motorola is promising 3 years of OS updates plus 5 years of security patches. That’s a solid long-term commitment, particularly at this price tier.

Camera: Four 50MP Sensors and a Periscope Lens

This is where the Pro Plus earns its “Plus” badge. The rear camera system has three shooters, all at 50MP:

CameraSensor / Details
MainSony LYTIA 710, f/1.8, OIS, 1/1.56-inch, 2.0µm Ultra Pixel
Ultrawide12mm focal length, 122-degree FOV, f/2.0, autofocus
Periscope Telephoto3.5x optical zoom, 50x AI Super Zoom, 81mm, OIS
Front50MP, f/1.9, autofocus

The 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 primary sensor is the same one used in several flagship-adjacent phones. Paired with OIS and a large pixel size, it should perform well in low-light. The periscope telephoto with 3.5x optical zoom and 50x AI Super Zoom Pro is genuinely new to this series the Edge 70 Pro had no telephoto at all.

Video tops out at 4K HDR10+ at 60fps, with slow-motion options going up to 4K at 120fps or FHD at 240fps. Google Photos’ AI features Magic Eraser, Magic Editor, Photo Unblur, Portrait Light are all available.

Battery: 6500mAh With 90W Fast Charging

The 6500mAh silicon-carbon battery is large. Motorola claims up to 51 hours of battery life, 29 hours of continuous video, and 26 hours of gaming on a single charge. Even if you discount those figures by a healthy margin, this should comfortably last two days for most users.

90W TurboPower wired charging reportedly fills 12 hours of battery in just 9 minutes. Full charge from flat takes well under an hour. There’s also 15W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging not many phones under Rs 50,000 offer reverse wireless charging, so that’s a nice touch.

Build, Design, and Colors

The Edge 70 Pro Plus comes in three Pantone-certified finishes that Motorola is branding under its “Collections” identity:

  • Pantone Chicory Coffee (FSC-certified wood finish)
  • Pantone Zinfandel (Satin-Luxe finish)
  • Pantone Stormy Sea (Twill-inspired finish)

The phone measures just 7.19mm thick (in the fabric variants) and weighs 190g. The frame is plastic, though the finish materials on the rear help mask that. IP69/IP68 rating covers it for dust, water jets, and submersion MIL-STD-810H certification adds further drop and environmental protection.

Connectivity

One thing worth flagging: the phone uses USB 2.0 on its Type-C port. That means no fast PC transfers, no video output via USB-C. At Rs 47,999, USB 3.x or at least USB 3.2 would not have been unreasonable to expect. Keep that in mind if you move large files regularly.

The AI Key a dedicated hardware button for quick access to Google Gemini is present here. It works both for on-device AI tasks and Gemini’s live capabilities like summarizing notifications and helping draft messages.

Should You Buy the Motorola Edge 70 Pro Plus?

For Rs 47,999 or Rs 44,999 after the launch cashback the Edge 70 Pro Plus stacks up well. A proper periscope telephoto, the Sony LYT-710 primary sensor, a class-leading 5200-nit display, a 6500mAh battery with 90W charging, Android 16, and 8 years of combined OS and security support is a lot to argue with.

The USB 2.0 port is a real miss. And it launches as a Flipkart exclusive, which may bother buyers who prefer other channels.

But if you want a near-flagship camera phone with a big battery and a premium display under Rs 50,000, the Edge 70 Pro Plus belongs at the top of your shortlist.
