Punit Soni, Motorola VP (Product Management) confirmed that the Moto X flagship model will get the Android L update, however no particular time frame was mentioned. Most likely Moto G could also get the Android L update.
After KitKat, Google will be rolling out the next android version called the Android L. Moto E might not get the update, though there is no official confirmation yet. With the launch of Moto G at a very attractive price tag, Motorola made a big comeback in India.
They then launched the Moto X that did pretty well even when it was priced at over Rs. 20K and then the low cost Moto E. Some users had faced carrier issues that was later fixed via software updates.
As per latest shipments reports Motorola is ahead of Nokia. And in most cases they are the first to roll out OS updates. Moto G for example recently got the KitKat 4.4.4 update.
Well for those who had invested in the Moto X and the Moto G this news will bring more smiles. They can continue getting the latest updates for free, a new OS in a way, is like buying a new handset.
