Along with the Lumia 950 hexa core powered smartphone Microsoft also announced the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL. The 950 XL is an XL version that also using an XL processor – snapdragon 810 octa core and the price starts from $649 (approx ₹42K).

The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL is using the latest snapdragon 810 octa core processor (MSM8994) with Adreno 430 GPU. It sports a bigger screen of 5.7 inches (OLED) with Quad HD resolution – 2560 x 1440 pixels, screen comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Windows 10 runs the show with 3GB on board RAM, 32GB storage and micro SD card slot that supports up to 200GB external cards.

When it comes to the camera there is a 20MP PureView primary camera with triple LED flash and 4K recording capabilities. Front camera is 5MP fixed focus with wide Selfie support. Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, USB Type C port and WiFi. This handset also supports Windows Continuum and Windows Hello Beta.

  1. This phone has liquid cooler which they have in surface tablets too. Really wondering how they put it on the phone!! But it will help the 810 processor to reach its full potential.

  2. As lovely as this is, the cost is too much for a Windows phone, even one made by Nokia. And the unnecessarily high resolution shows that Microsoft are also sheep in this matter, simply following the herd. The real talking points in the latest Microsoft releases are the Surface Pro 4 and more eye-catching, the Surface book(the first truly complete laptab and may be worth buying even at 1 Lakh rupees because of its all round usefulness)
