LG had announced the LG G5, yesterday. Their new handset called G5 is powered by snapdragon 820 quad core processor and comes with hardware expansion slot with supported hardware expansion modules like Hi-Fi Plus, CAM Plus and B&O Play.
LG G5 is kind of a modular smartphone that supports different expansion modules, users can remove the modular component unveiling the card slots and battery and simply insert the add-on component. Just to give you an example the CAM Plus is one such module that can be attached through the battery slot – its gives DSLR type of controls (check the image below).
LG G5 weight with battery is 159 grams and thickness is 8.6mm. This handset sports a 5.3 inch screen supporting 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution – with an always on display. G5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64 bit quad core processor with Adreno 530 GPU.
Marshmallow runs the show with 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM and micro SD card support. There are dual cameras on rear a 16MP + an 8MP with 4K recording capabilities. Front camera is an 8MP shooter.
Key features are 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, GPS, USB Type C port, NFC, finger print scanner, IR and Bluetooth 4.2. A 2800 mAh battery that can be removed powers up this handset (supports quick charge 3.0).
LG G5 price has not yet been disclosed.
This is the most innovative step taken by LG. It’ll definitely be a worthy one this year.

Google Ara project started
This is not a practical phone. Who has the time and space to carry extra hardware in this age.
google’s project “Ara” also tried to do similar thing but failed. hope we will see better things in future like upgradable processor,Ram and GPU etc.
