Kia India has opened pre-bookings for three new MPV variants the Kia Carens CNG, Carens Clavis CNG and the premium Carnival Limousine Hybrid.

All three can now be booked through Kia’s authorised dealerships across India. With this move, Kia is expanding its range with more fuel-efficient options for both family buyers and commercial users.

The Carens and Carens Clavis now get factory-fitted CNG, while the Carnival gets a hybrid petrol-electric powertrain.

Kia Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG Get Factory-Fitted CNG

The Kia Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG are based on the G1.5 6MT powertrain and come with a 60-litre CNG tank fitted directly at the factory.

This is different from installing a CNG kit later at a dealership or local workshop. Since the system comes fitted from the factory, the engine, suspension and other components can be tuned specifically for CNG use.

Both models come with 16-inch wheels and 16-inch disc brakes. Kia has also made changes to the engine calibration and suspension setup to handle the additional weight of the CNG system.

Drivers get a dedicated CNG Fuel Change Switch to move between petrol and CNG.

There is also a 4.2-inch colour TFT MID with CNG Distance-to-Empty information, making it easier to know how far the vehicle can travel with the remaining gas.

Kia has also redesigned the third-row seat-back frame to improve the reclining angle. This should make the last row slightly more comfortable, especially on longer journeys.

Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG Variants

Kia is offering separate versions for regular customers and commercial buyers.

The commercial M-Drive and HTM variants are aimed mainly at fleet operators and mobility businesses, while private customers get trims with more comfort and convenience features.

Kia Carnival Limousine Hybrid Brings a New Powertrain

The Kia Carnival Limousine Hybrid is the more premium model among the three.

It uses a G1.6T HEV powertrain paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and will be available in the Limousine+ variant.

The hybrid system combines a turbo-petrol engine with an electric motor and battery. It does not need to be plugged into an external charger.

The electric motor can assist the petrol engine and also handle some low-speed driving, helping improve overall fuel efficiency.

Kia has also added several premium features to the Carnival Hybrid.

It gets 18-inch Crystal Cut Dual Tone Aero alloy wheels along with Active Air Flaps, which help improve aerodynamics.

There is also a Virtual Engine Sound System (VESS) that produces an audible warning at low speeds when the hybrid is operating quietly on electric power.

Plenty of Comfort for Rear Passengers

The Carnival Limousine Hybrid continues to focus heavily on rear-seat comfort.

It gets a Smart Pure Air Purifier with AQI display, along with retractable and height-adjustable seat-back tables.

The tables also include wireless charging, which should be useful for passengers working or travelling for longer periods.

Other cabin features include monotone ambient lighting, dedicated cup holders and leatherette-wrapped door trims.

These additions clearly position the Carnival Hybrid as a premium MPV that can work equally well as a luxury family vehicle or a chauffeur-driven car.

Kia Carens CNG, Clavis CNG and Carnival Hybrid Price in India

Kia has not announced the official prices yet.

For now, buyers can pre-book all three models through Kia dealerships, while the final ex-showroom prices will be revealed later.

The company has also not announced official CNG mileage, hybrid fuel efficiency or complete on-road pricing.

The three models were recently displayed at Kia Inspiration Day, so most of the important specifications and features have already been revealed.

Why These New Kia Variants Matter

CNG continues to attract buyers looking to reduce everyday fuel expenses, especially those who drive long distances regularly.

By introducing factory-fitted CNG versions of the Carens and Carens Clavis, Kia now has a stronger option for large families as well as fleet and taxi operators.

The Carnival Limousine Hybrid, meanwhile, takes a different approach. Instead of CNG, it combines a petrol engine with electric assistance to offer better efficiency without giving up the premium experience expected from the Carnival.

Kia currently sells models such as the Seltos, Syros, Sonet, Carens, Carnival, EV6, EV9, Carens Clavis and Carens Clavis EV in India.

The company operates its manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, with an annual production capacity of around 400,000 vehicles.

Kia also has a large sales and service network across the country, which should make booking and servicing these new models easier for customers.
