Nissan Motor India has pulled the wraps off the Nissan TEKTON, a new premium C-SUV built as the centrepiece of the brand’s India resurgence plan. The World Premiere took place in Mumbai on July 9, with prices starting at Rs 10.49 lakh for the T160 range and going up to Rs 18.59 lakh for the fully loaded T280 DCT variant. Bookings are now open across Nissan’s retail network and digital platforms.
The TEKTON takes its design cues from the legendary Nissan Patrol and is positioned as the brand’s second product launch of 2026, following the GRAVITE. It is manufactured at Nissan’s Chennai plant and will also be exported to markets across the Middle East and Africa under the company’s “One Car, One World” philosophy.

Nissan TEKTON Engine and Performance
The TEKTON is the only model in its segment to run a 100 percent turbocharged engine line-up. Buyers get a choice between two turbo petrol engines.

Both engines use Nissan GT-R-derived Mirror Bore Coating technology to cut internal friction and improve efficiency. The T280 DCT pairs with an E-shifter for quicker, more responsive gear changes, while the manual gearbox is aimed at drivers who prefer direct control. A Dual-Drive Mode with mood lighting and Dual-Mode Steering, which switches between light effort for city driving and firmer effort at highway speed, round out the driving experience.
Nissan TEKTON Design
Design is where Nissan is leaning hardest on nostalgia. The TEKTON borrows visual language from the Nissan Patrol, translating 75 years of Nissan SUV history into a modern C-SUV silhouette.
Up front, buyers get a full-width Patrol-inspired chrome grille, a Double-C contrast skid plate, and Signature C-Shaped 5-Chamber LED Connecting Headlamps. At the rear, SynchroFlow C-Shaped Connected LED Tail Lamps and a piano black “Majestic Himalayan Crest” badge finish the look. Ground clearance stands at 212 mm, and boot space is rated at 700 litres, which Nissan claims is class-leading.

Inside, the TEKTON goes for a tri-tone cabin finished in premium beige, burgundy, and rose gold accents, with leatherette upholstery and bespoke stitching. The rose gold Nissan Insignia badge and a double D-cut steering wheel are part of the premium touches Nissan is highlighting.

Nissan TEKTON Connectivity and Google Built-in
Google built-in is the headline connectivity feature on the TEKTON, giving owners native access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play with over 200 apps to choose from. This runs through a dual-screen setup made up of a 25.65 cm (10.1 inch) Tek-Link HD Infotainment System and a 26.03 cm (10.25 inch) HD Digital Cockpit.
Owners can sign in with their Google account to carry personal preferences into the car, use Google Assistant for hands-free control of navigation, media, and climate functions, and rely on Google Maps for live traffic and navigation that also mirrors onto the digital instrument cluster. The MyNISSAN App adds more than 55 connected features on top of this, including remote access and vehicle status checks.
Nissan TEKTON Safety Features
Safety is built around a 62 percent high-strength steel monocoque frame, with additional ultra-high-strength steel reinforcement in the A and B pillars. Six airbags come as standard, alongside more than 40 standard safety features.
The TEKTON also gets 17 or more ADAS features, including:

Everyday usability gets attention too, with a Smart Powered Tailgate that includes anti-pinch protection and a low loading edge. Intelligent Access brings Approach Unlock and Walkaway Lock, so the car unlocks and locks automatically based on proximity to the key.

The TEKTON enters one of the busiest segments in the Indian market, going up against rivals in the mid-size to premium SUV space. Its pitch rests on three things: a fully turbocharged engine line-up, genuine Google built-in integration rather than a basic Android-based skin, and a design identity borrowed from one of Nissan’s most respected nameplates. At an introductory starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh, the base T160 variant undercuts several rivals while still packing six airbags and a reasonable ADAS suite as standard.
