Developers now use several AI tools while coding, and switching between shortcuts, apps and terminal commands can quickly become messy. Logitech wants to make this easier with the new MX Keypad, a compact physical control device designed especially for developers.
The keypad can be programmed to control different AI coding tools, IDEs and commands from one place. Logitech is positioning it as its first multi-app AI control center for developers.
The Logitech MX Keypad price in India is INR 15,999.

What Is the Logitech MX Keypad
The MX Keypad is basically a small programmable command panel that sits next to your regular keyboard.
Instead of remembering different keyboard shortcuts for every coding tool, developers can assign common actions to individual keys. A single press could launch a command, run an AI prompt, start a refactoring task or trigger another frequently used action.
Developers can also save prompt macros. These are reusable instructions that can be triggered instantly instead of typing the same prompt again and again.
The interesting part is that the keys are not limited to controlling just one application. A key can be configured to work with one tool or even multiple apps and AI agents depending on how the developer wants to build the workflow.
Works With GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and Popular IDEs
Logitech developed the MX Keypad in collaboration with GitHub.
At launch, the device supports tools including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Visual Studio Code and IntelliJ IDEA. Native GitHub integration is also available from day one.

The idea is to make AI coding tools feel more integrated into the normal development process rather than something developers constantly need to switch to manually.
Logitech says the physical controls can help developers manage AI workflows faster while keeping their attention on the code.
Every MX Keypad also comes with three months of GitHub Copilot Pro+. The offer can be redeemed using the Logi Options+ software and is available for both new and existing subscribers.
Developers Can Create Their Own Actions
The MX Keypad is not limited to the integrations provided by Logitech.
Through the Logi Actions SDK, developers can create their own custom controls and integrations for different software and AI tools.
Logitech has also designed the SDK documentation to work well with AI coding agents. This means an AI assistant can help generate integrations using the SDK instead of requiring the developer to build everything manually.
Community-created plugins for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex are already available through the Logi Marketplace.

These integrations can provide features such as AI agent status updates and command-line controls directly through compatible Logitech devices.
Logitech says the platform can work across more than 100 million compatible Logitech devices already being used worldwide.

Sustainability Is Also Part of the Design
Logitech has also focused on recycled materials with the MX Keypad.
The Graphite version uses 64 percent certified post-consumer recycled plastic.
Its packaging uses paper sourced from FSC-certified forests and other controlled sources. FSC certification is used for wood and paper products sourced through more responsibly managed forestry practices.

Is the Logitech MX Keypad Useful for Developers?
The MX Keypad makes the most sense for developers who regularly work with several AI coding assistants, IDEs and terminal tools.
Instead of jumping between windows or remembering multiple shortcuts, frequently used AI commands can be placed on physical buttons.
For developers using GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, OpenAI Codex or multiple AI agents at the same time, this could make everyday coding a little faster and more organised.
At INR 15,999, however, it is clearly aimed at serious developers and professionals rather than casual users.
Its long-term usefulness will depend heavily on how many useful integrations and community plugins become available. If the Logi Marketplace continues to grow, the MX Keypad could become an interesting addition to an AI-heavy coding setup.
