The Fronix Aurora II that was announced a few weeks back now comes with Windows 8 Metro UI theme. This is not a tab with Windows 8; instead it is just a theme running on the Jelly bean 4.1 OS.

The Fronix Aurora II though available, I have not seen users talking about it, probably the tablet has not reached the market yet or only some limited units that were available have been sold and Fronix are waiting for new stocks.

Anyway the Aurora II as we know comes powered by a Rockchip RK3066 CPU clocked at 1.6GHz with quad core Mali 400 GPU and 1GB RAM. It is with the same configuration as on the Wammy desire (except for 800×480 pixel screen).  The capacitive touchscreen display is 7 inches with 1024×600 pixels resolution.

OS used is Jelly Bean 4.1 with Windows 8 Metro UI theme . I think they might charge a little more for the tab with this theme. Internal storage is 8GB. There are dual cameras (2MP rear and 2MP front).

There is HDMI port, and 3G is also supported via external dongle. The built in battery will last for about 5 hours on a full charge. Price Rs. 6,960 (Metro UI – may be extra).

The Windows 8 Metro UI theme on Jelly bean?
Well yes and you get the same experience that you would on the Windows 8 OS. There are those live tiles as on the W8 OS that keep themselves updated at all times. You can have the live calendar, events, weather app, music, battery status and more, get the imp content updated  right on the home screen without having to open any application.
