Another MediaTek powered quad core handset the BSNL Champion Trendy 531 will hit the Indian markets soon for a price tag of Rs. 13,999. BSNL and Champion Computers have partnered together to bring forth this device.

It seems like the MT6589 chipset as they have mentioned 1.2GHz quad core. The BSNL Champion Trendy 531 runs on Android 4.2 over a 5.3 inch screen with probably HD resolution. The company has not yet disclosed the resolution.

It is a dual SIM handset with dual standby mode. Trendy 531 comes with 13MP rear auto focus camera with LED flash and 5MP front camera. Loaded with 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage, this handset also comes with external card slot that can house cards of up to 32GB.

Other common features included are 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, micro USB port and 3.5mm audio jack. This Trendy 531 houses a good 3200 mAh battery that should give a good backup time of over a day with moderate usage.

Most probably it’s the same MT6589 hardware @ 1.2GHz, BSNL Champion have entered the market a bit late, there are already too many MT6589 powered handsets within the price tag of Rs. 11K to 14K, though the screen size and battery mAh might attract the consumers.
