The awaited Asus Nexus 7 tablet is now available in India for Rs. 18,999 for the Wi-Fi only version and Rs. 21,999 for the Wi-Fi + 3G versions. It’s a quad core tablet running the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS.

The Asus Nexus 7 is 10.5 mm thick and weighs around 340 grams. This tablet runs on Android 4.1 OS but is upgradeable to 4.2 with 1GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The LED backlit LCD display is 7 inches supporting resolution of 1280×800 pixels (216 ppi) with 16M colors. This tablet comes with corning glass protection.

The Nexus 7 is powered by Cortex A9 quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with ULP GeForce GPU. There is a single camera placed on the front of 1.2MP resolution. Video calling is supported and the front camera can also record videos in HD (720p) resolution.

Other features are Wi-Fi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 3.0, micro USB, 3.5mm headset jack and GPS. The 3G version comes with built in SIM slot with 3G support. There is Accelerometer, NFC, compass, gyro and proximity sensors. A 4325 mAh battery gives a usage time of up to 10 hours. The Google Nexus 7 with same features is available for Rs. 15,999  via Google play – it is with 16GB internal storage.
