Ambrane AK-7000 Kids tablet spotted for Rs. 4999

Ambrane AK-7000 tablet for Kids will soon be available for Rs. 4,999. This 7 inch tablet is powered by dual core processor and runs on Android 4.2. It will compete with Swipe Junior Tablet.

If you are planning to buy a tablet for your kid, there are quite a few options. These tablets made for Kids come with the same hardware as seen on other tablets. The kids tablets look different because of the outer design that is made so to attract kids and to provide a little extra protection.

The Swipe Junior tablet is currently available for Rs. 5,999 and now the Ambrane AK-7000 will be available with near about the same configuration for Rs. 1K cheaper i.e. Rs. 4,999. AK-7000 is powered by Dual core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1GHz.

This tab runs on Android 4.2.2 with 512MB on board RAM and 4GB internal storage. There is a micro SD card slot to add up to 32GB external storage. The touch screen is 7 inches supporting 1024 x 600 pixels resolution.

In addition there is 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP (VGA) front camera. Key features are Wi-Fi, micro USB port and 3.5mm audio jack. 3G is also supported via external Dongle. The tab is 11.5mm thick and comes with 3000 mAh battery.

Ambrane AK-7000 is available in Blue color listed on Flipkart for Rs. 4,999.

    Overall, I’ll be looking forward to getting this tab, even though its labeled as ‘for kids’ doesn’t mean that we can’t play around with it.

    Why just kids? These are decent specs for anybody at this price. And the tougher build quality is also a welcome feature for any buyer. The only problem is 512 mb RAM. For kids especially, higher RAM is essential because they lack the patience to give a gap between successive touch commands. So 512 mb RAM which is too little even for patient adults will be very inadequate.
