It seems Xiaomi Mi3 is not the only handset that is currently popular among the masses in India. The Asus Zenfone is one such handset that is difficult to buy, but not as difficult as the Mi3. As far as the sales are concerned the Zenfone is getting sold out within hours of its availability.

I have been getting a lot of request to review the Asus Zenfone, specially the Zenfone 5. Unfortunately after getting no response from Asus – for the review unit, I have ultimately ordered the Zenfone 5 for the review. You can expect the Zenfone 5 review on Monday if I get it by Friday.

Asus had recently launched series of Zenfone models – the Zenfone 4, 5 and 6. The Zenfone 5 is the most popular specially the 8GB version with a price tag of Rs. 10,000. The 16GB Zenfone 5 is available but the price difference is too much and hence consumers are avoiding that.

Asus have revealed that 20K Zenfone units were sold within few hours. The handsets got sold out the first time it got listed on Flipkart, was in stock again this Monday, and went out of stock within hours.

Asus Zenfone 5 sold out within few hours

The Asus Zenfone 5 is using the Intel Atom Z2560 chipset clocked at 1.6GHz. It comes with 2GB RAM and 8GB /16GB storage options. Screen is 5 inches with HD resolution – with gorilla glass 3 protection.

The specs looks good and the handset is getting positive response from users. The good part about the Zenfones is that the company is providing regular software updates; they have so far rolled out 3 updates.
