The Xtab A10 review results were very good and the battery life was about 4 to 5 hours. But this was with the first lot or the Xtab A10 8 GB version. Users who had recently bought the Xtab A10 are not happy with the performance. There are two things that I have heard consumers complaining about, the low sound problem and the battery life.
I had a chat with one of the customer of Xtab A10 4 GB and he told me that his tab runs for about two or two and a half hour max. He also said that the battery gets fully charged in about the same time. I am using this tab almost every day and I am getting a better battery life. It could be that the new tabs are not up to the standards.
And then another user told me that he had opened the tab and found that the lithium polymer battery is 2450 mAh and not 3600 mAh as claimed by NXG. Since I had already opened my tab before (The Spilled Milk episode), I opened up the tab again and was surprised to find that the Li-po battery indeed was 2450 mAh.
The NXG website’s Xtab A10 specifications page still says that the battery is 3600 mAh where as its 2450 mAh inside. Usually you will not find users opening up the tabs to find out what’s really inside. But as a company NXG should not have misled the customers and in case they themselves are not aware (since these tabs are imported from China) they still need to apologize for misleading the customers.
Now the interesting part is that I bought the tab when it was first released and so did many other users. We never faced any issues, in fact the battery life was good about 4 to 5 hours on a full charge. But the users who recently got the tab (the 4 GB version) are complaining that the battery hardly lasts for about 2 or 2 ½ hours.
One of the users told me that his tab gets fully charged in just 2 to 2 ½ hours. But my tab takes about 3 to 3 ½ hours for full charging. He was the one who also told me that someone had opened up the tab to have a look at the battery and found it to be a 2450 mAh capacity.
I opened up my tab and found it to be true. It is surprising that the capacity is the same at 2450 mAh and yet the new tabs are giving a much lower battery performance. I think NXG needs to give some valid explanation regarding this issue.

I bought xtab a10 and so far no issues with the battery, but the performance does lag at times, i downloaded an app called android assistant which reported the following
under android assistant – under tools – system info
check it out for yourself by installing this app
which shows the capacity of the XTAB as follows
Processor – 1ghz ( supposed to be 1.5ghz)
ram 306.59 mb (supposed to be 512mb)
rom – 1gb
sdcard – 2 gb
memory adds up to 3gb – where is the missing 1gb??
these guys have a lot to answer.
by the way do you know any app which can actually report the correct specifications of the tablet.
do advise.

Processor is 1 GHz but can be clocked to 1.5 GHz there is 400 MHz GPU which many manufactures count with the CPU (CPU + GPU = GHZ)
Ram is 512 some allocated by for the system, you will not see that.
4GB internal again some allocated for system.
Hi gogi! Since long time I have been looking out for a tab. I have no fixed budget. Maybe I could spend around 20k. But don't think the tab like thing is worth it. Maybe if amount exceeds 20k, I would rather consider a full fledged laptop. Even between 15k to 20k too, I would consider a netbook/mini laptop.
So, was thinking about buying one cheap tab like xtab a10/veedee d10/attitude daksha. As I feel 5-6k is enough for a tab!
Well, I don't sell any product that I buy,& use it till it becomes useless.
I was also thinking about samsung p1010, blackberry playbook. I will use the tab for say 5 years.
does nxg/ veedee like tabs can work for such a long period. I don't use such products heavily, like hd gaming etc.
So what will you suggest to buy?

Hi the tab are not as speedy as Laptops, yes they are lighter and have the touchscreen which is easy to operate when moving around. The chinese tabs are new in the market, so really don't know how long they will last. But there is the Samsung P3100 tab you can check http://www.gogi.in/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-p3100-rev….
You can wait for the same tab in 8 GB version ( not yet launched ).

I'm looking for better battery life, good touch screen, picture clarity and low data rates(internet).
Based on my experience I would suggest you go with HCL ME.
X10 – It is good but the recent tabs had a lot of issues, so better to avoid it.
BSNL – Avoid it.
Micromax Funbook – next best option after HCL, in case price is the issue.
Can you post review of wicked leak android 4.0, their support is good

i bought this tab from EBay as i just didn't trusted these guys how ever i received it after 10 days as soon as i opened the box there were so many scratches and the sound was very low i reported this issue to EBay and got a reply in the next second but NXG was not even able to answer any question
i got the refund only because EBay helped me or else these guys told me that refund is just impossible they told me that and i can do what ever i want!
Finally i raised a claim under EBay guarantee and got a refund by sending the item back to the seller

When did you buy from ebay.in? I still see the xtab listed on the ebay site.
Low cost Indian Tablet means '3rd Grade Chinese Toys', that is all I can say about these tabs. Indian Laws are not strict, so you can't even sue these Indian companies. Pity, how you reviewers promote these products and companies.
My sincere advise to all of you who want to buy tabs is, either you go for a branded one like Sony, Samsung, LG, Motorola, Apple even if its costs more (not Indian, where they just import it from 3rd Grade Chinese vendors) or if you are desperate to buy a low cost tablet, wait for the one which will be released by Google.
Manj, you mean to say Sony, Samsung, LG, Motorola, Apple are not made in China? The NXG tabs the ones that I got when released were really good. You cannot expect us to open the tab and see all that is mentioned is true. We are not promoting the product in fact we bought it and then did the review. NXG hit their own foot by not maintaining the quality / going low on quality checks. This can happen with any company and you need courage to recall the product, fix and send it back.
I mean to say that, they have a brand name to maintain. So they follow international standards for their products in terms both Hardware and software quality. Of course their products may be manufactured in China, but of the first grade quality, which will pass the the required tests. The support after sales for their products is the next thing to look for.
Unlike these Indian Companies, who import their products from '3rd Grade Chinese companies', who doesnt have to follow any International standards and pass any tests of both hardware and software quality required. Next thing is to look at their after sales support, which is pathetic at its best.

Pls suggest a below 6k tablet trusted for gaming like nfs and supported external 3g modem, preferably 1gb ram and good 1024*724 pixel, if you can find, I already bought xtab but it hangs.
Difficult to get the specs under 6K.
NXG electronics has a perfect business plan, they are providing incomplete or false information and talk about business ethics thus making a fool out of customer
Below are some of the facts
- Charging Rs 200 for Air mode shipping and using surface mode which takes 5 working days
(here they put the blame on the courier company for cheating them)
- Specifying 3600mah battery and providing 2450 mah battery
(here they put the blame on the third party vendor for cheating them)
- Specifying that the 8GB tab has 8GB of internal memory which is again wrong
(In this case they provide a onBoard memory card and not additional flash memory)
I strongly feel that the company should either replace the battery for all tabs or provide a refund of atleast Rs 500 to all the customers.

Yes, they are thieves, but gentlemanly thieves, as they are not accepting their fault and are covering their mistake with false consolations! They say they are developing a software update to increase the battery life! What a joke!

They are projecting themselves so innocent, that they couldn't notice that they were cheated by their battery supplier, by giving 2450 mah batteries instead of 3600 mah…
And above all they claim about themselves that they have very rich moral values, and that is what they are known for, and that they have never compromised over, shameless behavior!
My XTAB A10 8GB gets charged in 2.25 hours from 0% to 100% when tablet is switched off & I think it will take some more time when it is on. I am also getting more than 5 hrs of video playback.I got my tab on 20 Apr.
Yes in switched off mode it will charge even faster. In the video you see the charging is with tab in stanby mode.

Are there sound & battery problems also with xtab A10 8gb version?
Not sure about the new ones but the one that I have (I got it when the tabs were just launched) seems to be working fine. Good, loud sound and for battery life you can check the video. The 4 GB did has some problems especially the battery issues, and it is quite possible the that the 8 GB (the new lot) may also face similar issues.

"Dear Sir,kindly format your tab firstly to solve your hanging problems.the Processor speed and battery issue has already been clarified.As per our testing,the battery has lasted for 6hours on video playback and 3 hours on wi-fi." This is their fixed reply to any query over hanging problem, sound problem & battery backup problem.
They are curing their hardware disease with software medicine, by saying that they are developing a firmware update to increase the battery life, instead of fitting a 3600 mah battery in place of 2450 mah!
They say to use sound boosting apps, to increase the sound, couldn't they use good quality speakers instead of cheap ones! They blow up any hardware complaint about tab like, low sound volume, poor battery backup,by saying "Dear Sir,kindly format your tab firstly"!
Do they think customers are brain dead'?
