Spice Mi-530 with 5.3 inch qHD screen, Dual core with 1GB RAM for Rs. 13999

by Gogi Rana on January 27, 2013 · 81 comments

Spice mobiles have launched a dual core handset called the Spice Mi-530 that sports a 5.3 inch qHD IPS display with 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and powered by a dual core processors for Rs. 13,999. The handset is listed on Saholic –  will be available soon.

There you go another dual core handset, having said that, the specification does look interesting. To start with its dual SIM dual standby handset running on Android 4.0 (ICS) OS. Mi-530 sails on 1GB RAM with a cool 16GB internal storage along with micro SD support.

The dual core processor is clocked at 1.2GHz. The display screen is 5.3 inches with 960×540 pixels resolution with 16M colors. The camera is of an 8MP resolution along with a 5MP front camera. As per the specs on Saholic the handset can record videos in 1080p resolution but there is no need to get excited about it because its 1080p at 15fps, the quality will not be as good as you would think.

The Spice Mi-530 comes loaded with 3G, 2G (class 12), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, micro USB and 3.5mm audio port. For such a big screen and dual core processor there is a 2550 mAh Li-po battery which as per Spice, will give a talktime of about 4 hours and standby time of almost 30 days over the 2G network.

Rs. 13,999 does look good for this dual core with 1GB, 16GB storage and 5.3 inch screen, however it will be tough choice to make between the dual core and the quad core as the price are too close.

Is spice stellar pinnacle is better than micromax a116 canvas hd.
because canvas hd has 4.1 jelly bean and pinnacle has 4.0 ICS also canvas hd is HD means it has 1280*720 resolution.and pinnacle is not HD. is canvas hd has direct call function as pinnacle has direct call function. can i use OTG (on the go) cable on canvas hd.
which phone is better i am very confuse.

Gogi..i think u r missing this phone for review as others reviewers are saying that this is better choice than mmx a116 being dual core

Reply

gogi February 21, 2013 at 3:00 pm

Rahul I think its Dual core and 1080p HD video recording @15fps.

Reply

Rahul February 22, 2013 at 10:07 am

yes Gogi u r right but acc. to reveiws i have read it can play 1080p with ease also it has many gud functions which a116 doesnt have…direct call, flip to mute…etc..also it has 16 GB interanl storage out of which 12 gb available …and also some users are also saying that it is pre-rooted as there is a option like root access in setting just like karbonn a18..otg provided in box…but i knw performance wise it will not be as gud as a116….

Rahul February 22, 2013 at 10:08 am

but still unless and untill we dont watch ur reveiw we will not taking any decision…plz try to get this review unit

gogi February 22, 2013 at 12:21 pm

Rahul yes 16GB storage in an advantage and the 5.3 inch screen and the storage has increased the cost. May be it can play 1080p if it can record it can as well. But as mentioned on flipkart its @15fps recording which is not that good.

Reply

Rahul February 22, 2013 at 1:46 pm

Yesss Gogi, 1080p at 15fps is not gonna make any sense better to record in 720@30fps…..but if is able to 1080p den also a gud buy…but i m nt undrstanding 1 thing tht being mtk6577(seen in one reveiw) how can this play 1080p ……maybe 1.2 ghz doing the trick..

Rahul February 22, 2013 at 1:55 pm

Also wheather we buy any of these phones ……..we have to compromise on something…

Hi Rahul i am using Spice mi 530 its a
awesome phone. Compare it. With micromax A116 hd it ok but.
Check entire review on facebook for this phone spce 530
And then compare with micromax u will be shocked This phone.
Has some features that even samsung galaxy note 1 does.
Not have. I recommend this phone don’t see jeally bean micromax.
See features and then deside. Spice can be upgraded but micromax cannot.

Hi Gogi ,
As the MMX A116 is delayed, I have my eyes on the Pinnacle.
Eagerly waiting for your reviews to make a final decision.
I feel if its benchmarks are good with 1 GB Ram , 16 GB Rom , 5MP front camera ,otg cable , flipcase , it would be a good buy around 13K.
Please review it at the soonest

I had called Spice customer care but they too does not know weather its Mediatek or Qualcomm or other. I request Gogi sir to please post its details of CPU & GPU if you have any idea. Also friends who bought this handset , please do share you reviews as am impressed by its looks but whats inside the hood is still not fully known.

Hemal February 2, 2013 at 7:59 pm

Can anyone tell me about its Processor & GPU. Is it Mediatek or qualcomm & is GPU , SGX or Adreno. I saw the video posted by Rohit & am now just confused between A116 & Pinnacle MI530. What i liked in Pinnacle : 5.3 Inch crisp screen & looks attractive , 16GB inbuilt , Free accesories like OTG cable & Flipcase. Its available on ebay for 13k & I think A116 too will be in same price range of 12-13k. I know dualcore & Quadcore is differece but I had used MMX A110 which is dual core & for me that speed is enough. If anyone is using it please share the experience as it may help me decide one to purchase.

When Quadcore is gonna come in 2 to 3months, who buy this model at this price? why brands launching these junk that too at such high price, which should not cross 8k as long as its dualcore. Nowadays everybody knows the latest tech. so brands must stop launching dump. SPICE become a big fool, lost the sp’ice, better change their name as ICE :D
