Just received a email from Micromax confirming the most awaited Micromax Canvas HD or Micromax A116 can be purchased online exclusively from Micromax info website, starting tomorrow the 14th of Feb 2013.
The Pricing details are also revealed it will be Rs. 13,990. You can order it online tomorrow (14th Feb.) and delivery will be within 5 to 7 working days. The Micromax A116 comes powered by 1.2GHz MT6589 quad core processor from MediaTek and will sails on the Jelly Bean OS ver. 4.1.
The IPS touchscreen screen is 5 inches supporting amazing resolution of 1280×720 pixels (HD) with 16.7 million colors. There will be an 8MP camera on the rear with 4X zoom, auto focus feature and LED flash. Another front camera on the front can be used for video chat.
3G is supported with download speed of up to 21Mbps. A 2000 mAH battery will keep the handset running for over a day on a full battery charge. The memory details are not mentioned in the email but we all know it is 1GB with 4GB internal storage.
I will be ordering the MMX A116 handset tomorrow, so expect the review as soon as I get it, assuming Micromax will keep up the promise by delivering it within 5 to 7 workings days.

my canvas hd’s back camera glass is broken. lens is safe. nothing happened to it as i can click fotos… but as i called service centre they were saying that as piece is new in market, we dont have price list for parts. and i have to change entire back cover for it. which costs 1200 rs for canvas 2.
so plz help me. suggest any options if possible.
isnt this manufacturer’s mistake dat he kept protruding camera for hd knowing dat they are having same complaints for canvas 2?
Varad, its only the glass that they need to put on and as far as I know (check again) the A116 back cover does not include the glass. Try a local mobile shot see if they can come up with a solution, its only the glass of the right size.

Canvas HD can easily record 1080P videos.
It can also play 1080P HD video with its stock video player. Amazing man…

plz check dual active,app2sd etc. then hd or fhd bcoz we already know its only hd by its name. so we have to check the feat. of 6589 and the feat. missing in a110 like app2sd etc.
i mean what xtra we got compared to a110 which price may fall to 8k in soon, if so the price diff. like around 6k to 7k.

1. it lacks all remaing features of 6589 expect Quadcore, so how can we say its Quadcore? its marketing gimmick i think, some say cost cutting, i dont belive.
2.may look powerful due to 1gb ram.

Yes.. we all actually expect you to be precise in enlisting pros and cons of the phone.. as u always have been we trust you,, but this time it is hype vs reality as R.V. RAJU has rightly pointed out.. it is after all a re-branded imported phone and we dont know whether it has full functionality of quad core.. GIAYU G4 looks promising though and for stunning 5k less … waithing for your in-depth review of much sought after HD 116..

Congrats Gogi! Do a thorough review of the handset. Saholic is showing that the handset will be available from 20/2/2013. Do you know if this is true? Also I checked with one of my local retailers and they are saying they can get by Monday. Any news from your end?

Nady, mine is via delhivery.com and it says Dispatched for Delivery,
not sure though if I will get it today, if not today then definitely on Monday if they have a Sunday off.
I just hate Delhivery Courier. I had ordered Canvas 2 from Saholic & they had send it via Delhivery – It took almost 9 days for them to deliver me the product – that too I visited their office & picked up the product.
I am happy Snapdeal used Blue Dart for my device.
Hopefully you should also get it today itself. Although I have it I am still waiting for your review
