Design and Display
For the price tag the Yu Yunique looks really awesome, the black body with the almost black display (when off) gives a very premium look to the handset, hard to imagine it is priced at ₹4,999. The body is made of plastic, rear panel covers 80% of the handset, it is soft to touch, matte finish and has got curvy sides. There are no sharp edges. Yunique weight with battery is 129 grams and dimensions are 67.7 x 134.60 x 8.24mm.

There is a single microphone. Yunique comes with dual SIM slots ( 2 x micro SIM) and a micro SD card slot. 4G works on both the SIM slots.
This handset sports a 4.7 inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It using a CGG3 protection, fully laminated. Colour reproduction, viewing angles and touch response are good. When indoor the screen look good but under direct sunlight the screen in barely visible.

This handset is using the well known Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad core processor – 64 BIT MSM8916 cortex A53 with Adreno 306 GPU. Performance is smooth but when using heavy apps specially when playing games the handset lags (check gaming part in the video review).

I played Asphalt 8, installed on internal storage. Game clearly lagged in all the visual modes available – i.e. high, medium, low, very low. The hardware is well known and this should not have happened, probably the OS is not properly tweaked.
There is 8MP AF camera with LED flash on the rear and a 2MP camera on the front. Primary camera can shoot 1920 x 1080 pixel video. Camera quality is average; the street light shot was impressive. Do check the sample video and images at the end of this review.
No issues with sound (in-call and loud speaker), it’s loud and clear. 4G worked on both SIM and I did not face any issues with WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth.
There is a 2000 mAh non-removable battery. It does a pretty good job, you can expect about 4 to 6 hours of continuous moderate to heavy usage on a single charge.

The Yu Yunique is a beautiful looking handset, using a well known snapdragon 410 64 bit quad core processor running 32 bit Android Lollipop. Unfortunately when it came to gaming the performance was pretty disappointing. But in general the handset performed really well.
The Yunique is priced at ₹4,999 it is a good option but not for heavy users and especially not for gaming users.
