  1. I think Xiaomi might bring Mi8 SE to India soon. That’s the reason MiA2 has been cancelled for India. And that’s a smart decision. Now wish it comes soon with enough stocks. It is a hit already.

  2. Oneplus can kill all these Mi8 devices by launching a ‘lite’ version of 1+6 using the SD710 and pricing it at round 27k…. This would kill all the ‘flagship’ birds with one stone!

  4. Lack of 3.5 mm jack is a huge mistake. But the explorer version looks cool with the transparent back.

  6. @gogi… Shall I wait for it or to go for one plus 6? I don’t mind waiting for 3,4months

    1. If not in a hurry makes sense to wait, lets see if the Mi 8 series gets into India, definitely will be priced around the same compared to in China. Then you will get more options to choose from.

  9. Everything is good except battery.
Xiaomi is known for providing higher capacity battery. At least 4000 maH battery should be provided for 6.21″ screen.

    1. Bro its amoled display so battery consumption is less. So battery give decent performance. No problem.

  10. Gogi Boss,

    Please correct the following line,
    “approx Rs. 28K with 6GB/256GB”.

Any idea about lunch date in india?

    1. Xiaomi premium phones are not for Indian market where price and specs are more important than looks, build quality and design. This phone is for China and other developed countries where customers choose phones for looks over price. Xiaomi has released Note series and other cheap models which provide value for money for price conscious Indian buyers. The failure of one of their premium phones in Indian market i.e., Mi Mix 2 in terms of volume of sales due to its high price as compared to other cheaper models lends credence to this fact. Xiaomi knows that Indian buyers will never never buy Xiaomi phones that are expensive. So, no point in importing expensive phones to India paying extra taxes. Only cheaper models are made in India. Premium models are imported.

      1. But, Xiaomi mentioned 8 countries where this mobile will be launched and in that list India was there.

        1. Well Nohit Sharma bro their MI MIX 2 may not be that famous for the reason that it came with Single rear camera and that time the market got flooded with dual rear camera and yes the fake bokeh effect craze is just at its peak…

So, if they bring MI 8 specially the Explorer Edition..

They will just kill every other phone in India.

Well, Mr. Deepak as per you Xiaomi said they will launch this phone in India… Then why are you in doubt and listening to others… The real question is when!!!!

        2. Was it an official confirmation from Xiaomi or just a leaked rumour? Can be be more specific to support your claim?

  11. Xiaomi Mi 8 price RMB 3299 – approx Rs. 28K with 6GB/256GB

There is some price error mr. Gogi..please edit this

  14. Best thing is camera is better than Pixel 2 as tested by DXOMARK. I its under 35K than its better Mi phones cant charge premium prices.

      1. @HOLA
He was referring to the scores for photos. Even the overall score is slightly better than pixel 2. Overall score is 99 and not 95.

    1. DXO mark cannot be fully trusted…as evident from their Huawei P20 pro rating. Pixel 2 has better camera then P20pro in real world.

        1. In reality man, P20 camera despite having highr DXO mark score, is worse than Pixel 2. Not just Pixel 2 its worse than a lot other Flagship phones.

  15. I think Xiaomi might bring Mi8 SE to India soon. That’s the reason MiA2 has been cancelled for India. And that’s a smart decision. Now wish it comes soon with enough stocks. It is a hit already.

  16. If Explorer Edition comes to India at 39,999, then RIP OnePlus 6. No FP scanner or headphone jack in other models is sad.

Sites are reporting 3400 mAH for Mi 8 & 3120 mAH for 8 SE. Battery life will not touch Redmi phones.

    1. The on screen fingerprint scanner is very slow currently and it needs 2-3 gen before getting to speed of off screen scanners.

  17. Seems Xiaomi has nailed it with Mi8….a winner in 30k segment along with SE model .and can put one plus in trouble with its pricing. Mi band 3 is going to be best seller again…hope it arrives here soon.

  18. Well the 1 Plus 6 has just been killed by Mi8. R.I.P. 1Plus 6…Xiaomi is surely bringing Mi8 to India soonest. Battleli es are drawn.

    1. Till its launch time , OnePlus 6 will become old , one plus 6T will come when it comes to India , I think no worries for one plus

  19. amoled panels are always great but not sure whey we don’t see this in budget segment.

      1. Amoled technology was invented by Samsung and others cannot manufacture it without permission of Samsung. Manufacturing price of Amoled is now cheaper then LCD but Samsung is charging big premium for outsourcing these to Xiaomi and others hence it’s not available in mid range models.

  20. Finally an amoled panel….

I wish this trend comes to budget Mi devices too…

Then the lovers of such Gorgeous panel will pick the monsters with great face….?
