Glare is the quiet enemy of every tablet. You sit near a window, open a PDF, and half the page turns into a reflection of your own face. The OPPO Pad Mini Matte Display Edition, launching in India on October 22, 2026, aims to fix exactly that.

This compact 8.8-inch tablet pairs an anti-glare matte OLED display with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip and an 8000mAh battery, all in a body just 5.46mm thin. Here is what you need to know about its price, specifications and launch.

OPPO Pad Mini India Launch Date and Time

OPPO is set to unveil the tablet on October 22, 2026 at 4:45 PM IST, alongside the OPPO Enco X4 earbuds and Find X10 series. The Indian model is OPD2516 in a Lavender Purple finish.

OPPO Pad Mini Matte Display: What Makes It Different

A matte display scatters light rather than reflecting it like a mirror. That makes text and images easier to see near windows, under bright lights or outdoors. The OLED panel also offers rich colours and deep blacks.

The 2.5K OLED Eye-Comfort Matte Display has a 2520 x 1680 resolution, 344 pixels per inch and up to 144Hz refresh rate. OPPO quotes a maximum local brightness of 3200 nits and a very low 2-nit setting for night reading.

For students and note-takers, the matte finish adds some paper-like resistance while writing with the optional OPPO Pencil 3.

OPPO Pad Mini vs iPad mini

The iPad mini (A17 Pro) has an 8.3-inch LCD at 60Hz. On paper, the OPPO’s 8.8-inch matte AMOLED and 144Hz panel offer a smoother screen experience, along with faster 67W wired charging. Apple’s strengths remain its mature tablet app ecosystem and software support.

Who Is the OPPO Pad Mini Made For?

This tablet looks particularly interesting for readers, students, note-takers and frequent travellers. The matte screen is the attraction for long reading sessions, while the processor and 144Hz refresh rate add appeal for gaming.

It is a Wi-Fi tablet, with no cellular SIM connectivity or memory card slot in the announced configuration. Indian pricing will ultimately decide how it compares with the iPad mini.
