Xiaomi Mi 3 back on Flipkart for Rs. 13999

By Gogi Rana on July 28, 2017 23 Comments

The first Mi device that was launched in India is back on Flipkart, surprisingly listed again, available and priced at the same Rs. 13,999. Good to see it back but I really doubt if anyone would want to buy it for that price.

The Xiaomi Mi 3 is snapdragon 800 quad core powered running KitKat. This handset sports a 5 inch screen with full HD resolution. This is single SIM with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. Rear camera is 13MP and front camera is 2MP. A 3050 mAh battery powers this handset.

This unfortunately is a 3G handset, so makes no sense buying it now. I am really surprised as to why it is on Flipkart now and that too for the price that it was launched for (a long, long time ago). I guess this is not official may be some seller just cleaned their store and found it.

I too own a Mi3, it heats up a lot after getting MIUI 8. According to me MIUI 7 was the best MIUI ever released by Xiaomi. I tried downgrading but faced many issues so reverted back to MIUI 8.
Also MIUI 8 at least on Mi3 is verry buggy, especially the Chrome Browser crashing bug!! I hate that so much that I sometimes want to throw my device but then, I realise that only a fool would do that.

Intrestingly enough, Mi3 can record smooth 4K videos using the same Sony IMX135 camera sensor using other camera apps other than stock camera apps (BTW I used the old Google Camera app).
The output of 4K videos is far better then one I took using my friends Redmi Note 4 using the same app.

Some cool features that I like in Mi3 are:
    1. NFC.
    2. 3x Microphones
    3. Great rear camera.
    4. presence of almost all sensors that usually found in flagships. (Mi3 was a flagship device back then.)

Dear PK mi launched Mi 3 in july and Redmi 1s in September…

I was willing to buy MI 3 but ended up buying Redmi 1s as I was unable to grab them in flash sale… So, I remember those days when the rush of sale was just started…

It was not the hardware issue… But the mi server issue….

You may be talking about Mi Big Chase Play…

In that, if your ballon isn’t moving smoothly.i.e, gives jerk… Just go back and reload the same…. I too faced that issue sometimes in Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 1s but after following the same… Its just smooth…. But I would rather say… No phone can compete the smoothness of gameplay on a pc… It’s just fun to run that balloon on a pc than a phone… I won Rs 500 coupon in Grab coupon in 3rd Mi sale leading to buy a Powerbank 2 for just rs 699 so, this sale will be in memories for a longer time

I tried but didn’t work. Used my Mi Max and RN3 to play it. Just had some fun. It would be very interesting to play the game again 😉
Congrats on winning the coupon and for your power bank 🙂
