Smartron review

This handset is powered by 64 bit qualcomm snapdragon 810 1.96GHz octa core processor (Version 2.1) coupled with Adreno 430 GPU. The performance was smooth, lag free, maximum temperature I encountered was 36 degrees.

  • Quadrant – 35730
  • Antutu – 60115 / 55597 | 3D score – 26583 / 24852
  • Nenamark 2 – 59.6fps
  • Internal storage Speed – Read (209MB/s), Write (134MB/s)
  • Multi Touch – 10 Point

I played Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5 without any issues, game was smooth and lag free.

Camera comes with a 13MP camera on the rear and a 4MP camera on the front. The primary camera can shoot 4K videos. Camera quality is just about average, it needs a lot of improvement. Do check the sample images and videos at the end of this review.

Sound is loud and clear and much better thanks to DTS premium sound with DTS PlayFi. I did not find any issues with 4G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth. There is no finger print sensor on this handset, unfortunately.

Another unique thing about the Smartron is the access with unlimited cloud storage, IOT market place and your remote care app.

There is a 3000 mAh non-removable battery. It does a good job you can expect 4 to 7 hours of non-stop moderate to heavy usage. On a full charge the handset will last for a day with moderate usage.

Smartron Battery Performance (time / battery % drop / estimated battery temperature).

  • Running Benchmark app – 9 minutes / 3% / 35 degrees
  • Asphalt 8 + MC5 game play – 18 minutes / 8% / 36 degrees
  • 4K video playback with full brightness (WiFi /4G on) – 27 minutes / 6% / 34 degrees.

Fast charging supported – it took me 1 hour 25 minutes to charge the handset using wall charger from 7% to 100%.

Smartron looks beautiful and the overall performance is also impressive. There are two issue – the camera quality, needs  a lot of improvement and the other issue is the price. Being a new company they should have cooled down on the price.

Rating 3.8 out of 5.

Smartron is available on Amazon in exciting colour options for Rs. 24,999.
