Seiko has launched something rather special for Indian watch collectors. The Seiko Prospex India Limited Edition Tiger HBB005K1 is limited to just 1,000 pieces, and every watch gets its own individual number engraved on the case back.
The watch was launched in India on 9 September 2026 with a price of ₹1,07,000. It comes with a striking deep amber dial inspired by the colours and texture of an Indian tiger.
This is also an India-exclusive model, making it quite different from the regular Prospex watches available globally.

What Makes the Seiko Tiger Limited Edition Special?
The Seiko Tiger Limited Edition is part of the company’s popular Prospex lineup, which includes watches designed for outdoor activities, diving and professional use.

For this special edition, Seiko has used the Indian tiger as its main inspiration.
You can see the theme across the watch and packaging. It gets a deep amber textured dial, orange details on the bezel, a tiger-themed presentation box and even a photograph of an Indian tiger.
There are a few things that make this model stand out.
Every watch is individually numbered, it is available exclusively in India, and Seiko includes both a stainless steel bracelet and a black silicone strap inside the box.

Tiger-Inspired Deep Amber Dial
The dial is probably the first thing you will notice on the Seiko Tiger watch.
Seiko has given it a rich amber colour with a textured finish designed to resemble the look of a tiger’s coat. The appearance changes slightly depending on how light falls on the dial.

Large white hour markers and broad hands make the watch easy to read.
There is also a red seconds hand for extra contrast.
The black rotating bezel gets orange markings between the 12 and 20-minute positions, while rose-gold-tone details can be seen around the bezel and crown.
The bezel is not just decorative.
Divers can rotate it before entering the water and use the scale to keep track of elapsed time. Since it rotates in only one direction, an accidental movement cannot make the remaining dive time appear longer than it actually is.

Seiko 4R35 Automatic Movement
Inside the watch is Seiko’s well-known 4R35 automatic movement.
An automatic watch does not require a battery. Movement of your wrist rotates a small internal weight called a rotor, which winds the mainspring and keeps the watch running.
You can also manually wind the watch through the crown.
The movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers approximately 41 hours of power reserve.
So, if you remove the watch on Friday night, there is a good chance it will still be running on Sunday morning.
The movement also supports hacking seconds. Pulling the crown out stops the seconds hand, allowing you to set the watch more accurately.
Seiko officially rates the movement at around +45 to -35 seconds per day.
The 4R35 is a proven Seiko movement and is also used in several less expensive Prospex watches. In this limited edition, the higher price mainly comes from the special design, sapphire crystal, additional strap, packaging and limited production.
200 Metre Water Resistance and Sapphire Crystal
The Seiko HBB005K1 comes with a 20 bar or 200 metre water-resistance rating.
That makes it suitable for swimming, snorkelling and recreational scuba diving.
It also gets a screw-down case back to improve water resistance.
On the front, Seiko has used sapphire crystal, which offers much better scratch resistance than the mineral-style glass found on many affordable watches.
There is also a small magnifier above the date window, making the date easier to read.
Turn the watch around and you will find the famous Prospex wave logo along with the watch’s individual limited-edition number.
For collectors, that unique number is one of the most interesting parts of the watch.
It Is a Fairly Large Watch
The watch measures 43.80 mm in diameter and is 12.80 mm thick.
It follows Seiko’s well-known Samurai-style design, with sharp edges and a chunky sporty appearance.
This is not a small watch.
If you have a slim wrist, it would be a good idea to try the watch at a Seiko boutique before buying it.
Special Tiger Box and Wildlife Photography
The tiger theme goes beyond the watch itself.
Seiko worked with wildlife photographer Aarzoo Khurana, who became the first person to photograph all 58 tiger reserves in India.
Her journey reportedly covered more than 37,000 kilometres during a single road trip.
Every Seiko Tiger Limited Edition watch comes in a special tiger-themed box along with a photograph of an Indian tiger captured by Khurana.
It makes the package feel much more special than a regular watch box.
Seiko and WWF India Tiger Conservation Work
Seiko India has also supported WWF India conservation work in the Sundarbans.
The initiative includes support for AI and GSM-enabled cameras along with solar-powered street lights in areas close to tiger habitats.
These systems can help identify when a tiger moves near a village and send alerts through the mobile network.
The aim is to give villagers and forest officials more time to react and help reduce human-wildlife conflict.
Seiko Tiger Edition vs Regular Prospex Samurai
The Seiko HBB005K1 shares several features with regular Prospex Samurai watches, but there are some important differences.
| Feature | Seiko HBB005K1 Tiger Edition | Regular Prospex Samurai SRPL Series |
|---|---|---|
| Movement | 4R35 automatic | 4R35 automatic |
| Case size | 43.80 mm | 41.7 mm |
| Thickness | 12.80 mm | 12.3 mm |
| Crystal | Sapphire with magnifier | Hardlex |
| Water resistance | 200 metres | 200 metres |
| Straps | Steel bracelet + silicone strap | Steel bracelet |
| Numbered case back | Yes | No |
| Availability | 1,000 pieces, India only | Regular production |
Both watches use the same basic movement and offer a similar 200-metre water-resistance rating.
The Tiger Edition commands a higher price because you get a sapphire crystal, an additional silicone strap, special packaging, an individually numbered case back and, of course, much lower production numbers.
If you mainly want the Samurai design without paying for the limited-edition extras, you can explore Prospex Samurai divers here.
Where to Buy Seiko Tiger Limited Edition in India
The Seiko Prospex India Limited Edition Tiger is available through selected Seiko Watch Boutiques and Seiko Watch Salons across India.
Availability includes locations in Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, West Bengal, Kerala, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chandigarh.
The watch is also listed on Seiko’s official Indian online store.
Authorised watch retailers including Ethos Watches and Ramesh Watch Company also have listings for the HBB005K1.
When buying a limited-edition watch, check that the number engraved on the case back matches the documentation supplied with the watch.
It is also a good idea to keep the original box, additional strap, warranty card and tiger photograph safely.
A complete package can be especially important if you decide to sell or trade the watch later.
More Seiko Prospex Watches and Accessories
The Seiko Tiger Edition will not fit everyone’s budget, but there are several other options worth checking if you like Seiko automatic watches.
| Product | Why Check It Out | Link |
|---|---|---|
| Seiko Prospex automatic divers | Similar dive-watch styling with many dial options | See Prospex divers |
| Seiko Prospex limited editions | Other special and numbered Prospex models | Browse limited editions |
| Orange dial automatic watches | Similar warm dial colours at lower prices | View orange dial automatics |
| Seiko 5 Sports automatic | More affordable way to enter the Seiko automatic lineup | Check Seiko 5 Sports prices |
| Automatic watch winder | Keeps an automatic watch running while it is not being worn | Find a watch winder |
| Watch travel roll | Useful for safely carrying watches while travelling | Shop watch travel cases |
A watch winder is basically a small motorised box that slowly rotates an automatic watch when you are not wearing it.
This keeps the movement running and can save you from resetting the time and date every time you switch between watches.
Only 1,000 Pieces Are Being Made
Seiko has released India-specific watches before, including models such as the Forest Green Prospex SRPL29K1.
However, the HBB005K1 Tiger Limited Edition takes things further with its tiger-inspired dial, sapphire crystal, individually numbered case, special packaging and conservation connection.
Only 1,000 watches are being produced for India.
That is a very small number considering the size of the Indian watch market.
Once those pieces are sold through Seiko’s official retail network, buyers may have to depend on the pre-owned or collector market to find one.
For someone looking for a Seiko limited edition with a strong Indian connection, the HBB005K1 is certainly one of the more interesting Prospex releases of 2026.
