The Sansui S-44 is a dual SIM mobile phone that supports GSM+GSM and houses a 2.2 inch TFT screen. Low cost mobile phones are more in demand in India and China. This is a huge market but with a lot of competition.
S-44 from Sansui is a basic phone that supports two SIM’s and also features a 1.3 MP camera. But there are many other handsets available in the market like the Micromax X222 touch screen, Nokia 100, Nokia 101, Dual SIM Fly Mobile phones and Olive Mobile phones which will give tough competition to the Sansui S-44.
Sansui S-44 features
This is basically a Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) phone with Dual Standby feature, alphanumeric keypad and available in Black Yellow colour. The QVGA TFT screen is 2.2 inches with 240 by 320 pixel resolution. The S-44 dimension is 50 x 116 x 16.2 mm.
There is a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording feature. This is really a basic camera without LED flash, in fact you don’t need flash as the camera quality is just no good. Remember for camera anything above 3 megapixels is considered decent.
There are two memory slots which can hold microSD card of up to 4 GB so in all you can put 2 x 4GB cards a total of 8 GB storage. But one may ask the question why would you need so much storage on this basic phone? Well it can play MP3, MP4 and 3GP so if you love music you can store a lot of MP3 on the storage and even videos in MP4 and 3GP format. But I am not sure how smooth the video playback will be.
Those who love listing to FM can use the built in FM radio that supports recording. The Sansui S-44 supports GPRS and features Bluetooth 2.1, USB port and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
Other features are Hindi language support, voice answering feature, can use the phone as modem, dedicated music keys and internet browser.
The Sansui S-44 comes with the 1500 mAh battery that gives a talktime of 5 hours and standby time of 216 hours. This is really too low and there are many handsets within the same price range that give 3 times or more standby time.
Sansui S-44 price in India
Current Price: Rs. 1,800 | Best Price: Rs. 1720
Box Pack contains: handset, charger, battery, data cable, warranty card and user manual.
Verdict: Sansui S-44 looks may be impressive but the features are not, espcially the battery standby time, I would go in for the Nokia phone that has a better battery life and within the same price range.
