Touchscreen handset just got cheaper; hard to believe, well check out the Micromax X222 a 2.4 inch touchscreen phone that is priced just under Rs. 2,000.  There are many budget mobile phones available in the Indian markets that are priced below Rs. 2,000 but none of those come with a touchscreen option, until now.

But with the entry of Micromax X222 we may soon see many manufacturers launching low cost touchscreen phones. The X222 is basically a simple phone with dual SIM option and comes with an FM radio.

This is a bar type TFT full touchscreen phone with a 2.4 inch (6 cms) display. Since this is a budget phone you cannot expect the touch tap or scrolling to be as smooth as on high end phones. Moreover this is not capacitive but a resistive touchscreen.

Micromax  X222 review

Cool phone at an unbelievable price with Dual SIM capabilities, GPRS, FM radio and of course touchscreen features. Many people in India cannot afford a touchscreen phone because of its price but now with Micromax X222 they get a touchscreen feature for just Rs. 1,990. I am sure this will become a hot selling item and you may find many manufactures entering this low cost touchscreen domain, pretty soon.
