Samsung Galaxy SIII the most talked about and the most awaited handset will soon make its way into the Indian markets, within few weeks. There are many users waiting desperately to buy this handset and because of the mad rush it might get difficult to grab this handset at least for few days, when it is available.

Samsung Galaxy SIII what many call the next BIG thing comes with HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display (protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2) of size 4.8 inch, bigger and better screen as compared with its predecessor the Galaxy S2. And guess what the resolution supported is 1280 by 720 pixels at 306 ppi, you can just imagine the clarity. The smartphone is light weight (133 grams) and slim (8.6 mm thin).

Processor, OS and Memory
The S3 or SIII runs on the a quad core Samsung Exynos 4212 Processor clocked at 1.4 GHz with Mali 400MP GPU. Today many smartphones support multitasking which drains off the battery juice much faster but with Exynos 4 Quad processor multitasking is even smoother, computing speed is faster and consuming 20% less power. This high speed processor also helps capture better quality pictures and even record superior HD videos while using minimal battery juice.

There is 1 GB RAM with optional 16 GB, 32 GB or 64 GB internal storage. MicroSD is also supported which means you have virtually no limit to the amount of free storage space. This handset supports microSD card up to 64 GB.

The Samsung Galaxy SIII

This new Samsung Galaxy SIII phone sails on the latest Android ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS version 4.0.4 / TouchWiz (Nature) user interface v4.0 with access to Google Play. Document editor, Google services (Gmail, search, Maps etc), Picasa, Talk, YouTube apps and more comes pre-installed.

Camera
There is a 1.9 megapixel front facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear facing with Zero Lag Shutter speed. Shutter lag is basically the delay that happens when you press the click button and when the image is actually recorded (shutter lag is more visible when you are shooting a fast moving object).

With zero shutter lag the images are captured instantly and you can even use the bust mode to capture 20 images simultaneously. HTC One X is another handset that comes with the same camera features. On both these handsets you can click images even when you are shooting HD videos.

Galaxy S3 camera features – touch focus, geo tagging, full auto focus, LED flash for better image in low light environment, smile / face detection and image stabilization. Videos can be recording with 8 MP camera at 1080p (30 fps) and with 1.9 MP front camera at 720p (30 fps).

Connectivity
This handset supports 4G / 3G and 2G networks with HSDPA speed of up to 21 Mbps, HSUPA up to 5.76 Mbps. Other connectivity options are Wi-Fi, NFC (Near Field Communication), Bluetooth 4.0 and Micro USB 2.0. Wi-Fi supports DLNA, Hotpot and Wi-Fi Direct.

Other features
The S3 supports only Micro SIM cards, comes with SNS integration, multi format media player and TV out using MHL A/V link. There are 5 sensors namely Accelerometer, RGB, Compass, Barometer, GYRO and Proximity. S3 comes with built in load speaker and a 3.5 mm jack.

To compete with the Apple Siri the Galaxy S3 also comes preloaded with ‘S Voice’, which Samsung claims is a better voice recognition technology and does even more.

Another unique, interesting and intelligent feature is the SmartStay that tracks the user’s eye when they are surfing the web or reading a book and then accordingly adjusts the brightness for additional comfort.

Battery
The Samsung Galaxy SIII houses a 2100 mAh Standard Li-ion battery with  a good standby and talktime, in fact the battery performance of S3 will be even better than the S2.

Samsung Galaxy SIII price in India is expected to be around Rs. 37,950. The handset will also come with 50 GB drop box subscription valid for 2 years. The Samsung Galaxy SIII 32GB is now available for Rs. 41,400.
