Samsung has started rolling out Lollipop updates on their premium smartphones in India. Lollipop update has also been rolled out on the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, the update size is about 1039.32MB. I have the Edge and have updated it.

I did not encounter any issues during the update, but yes the handset did get a bit hot. I had kept the Note Edge on wall charge while the data was being downloaded because the battery was already at 37% – make sure to keep the battery level at over 75% whenever you are updating your phone. When the update was downloaded battery was at 100% and after the installation, battery dropped by 14%.

Update was smooth and after the update I did not find any significant change in the interface, it was running Android 5.0.1 with TouchWiz UI. The icons were the same, display was too bright had to reduce the brightness (Auto mode 2).

Performance was smooth, data was intact. I have just started using the handset after the lollipop update, will check the battery performance in a day or two. With this update you can view the notifications on the lock screen as well as on the edge screen.
