The Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 comes with 5.5 inch super AMOLED screen supporting 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. It is not mentioned if the screen comes with some protection but it does provide minor scratch protection. Color reproduction, viewing angle and touch response are very good.

Memory and Storage
There is 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. On the first boot you will get 10GB free internal space and about 800 MB to 1000 MB free RAM. App installs on internal storage, there is no option to move to SD card. OTG is supported.
J7 2016 is powered by Samsung Exynos 7870 64 bit octa core processor clocked at 1.6GHz coupled with Mali T830 GPU. Overall performance is smooth, lag free and battery temperature is well under control. Max battery temp I encountered was 35 degrees.

I played Modern Combat 5 and Asphalt 8. Both games worked really well in high graphics mode. Check video review for more.
J7 2016 Camera
The rear camera is a 13MP shooter with a f/1.9 aperture with LED flash support. Front camera is a 5MP shooter also with f/1.9 aperture and front LED flash. Focusing I found was a bit slow, but the camera quality is above average. Do check the sample images and videos at the end of this review.
The handset can shoot full HD videos at 30fps.
Apart from 4G LTE, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth the J7 2016 also comes with built in NFC. You can use the S-Bike mode. Sound is loud and clear, no issues with in-call speaker. I did not face any network issues.
J7 2016 Battery
The 3300 mAh removable battery does an impressive job, also thanks to manual brightness option and Super AMOELD screen – on a full charge you can expect 8 to 16 hours of non-stop moderate to heavy usage.
Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 Battery Performance (time / battery % drop / battery temperature).
- Running Benchmark app – 10 minutes / 1% / 34 degrees
- Played MC5 + Asphalt 8 – 18 minutes / 4% / 35 degrees

It took me 1 hour 56 minutes to charge the handset using wall charger from 18% to 100%. Estimated time from 0% to 100% is under 2 hours 15 minutes.
