The Panasonic Eluga Mark 2 handset is now available on Flipkart for Rs. 10,499. Is this handset better than the Redmi Note 3? Lets find out. Redmi Note 3 is priced at Rs. 11,999 with 3GB RAM / 32GB ROM, and Rs. 9,999 with 2GB/16GB.

Panasonic Eluga Mark 2 vs Redmi Note 3

Both these handsets support 4G with VoLTE, both are dual SIM using hybrid slot and design is also almost the same. Front camera on both Mark 2 and Note 3 is 5MP resolution, in fact the front camera quality will be better on Note 3 as it’s with f/2.0 aperture compared with f/2.4 on Mark 2.

And interestingly apart from finger print sensor both these handsets also come with Infrared port.

Hardware, Performance and Display

Redmi Note 3
Snapdragon 650, 64-bit hexa-core 1.8GHz with Adreno 510.
5.5 inch sunlight display, 1920 x 1080 pixels

Panasonic Eluga Mark 2
MediaTek MT6753 64 bit 1.3GHz with Mali T720
5.5 inch IPS, 2.5D curved screen and 1280 x 720 pixels + Dragon Trail Protected

The hexa core is no doubt much more powerful (check Redmi Note 3 review), even with a 1080p display.

Panasonic Eluga Mark 2 vs Redmi Note 3

Memory & storage

Redmi Note 3 comes with optional 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB whereas the Eluga Mark 2 comes with 3GB/32GB memory/storage. The 3GB Note 3 is slightly costlier than the Mark 2, but the 2GB Note 3 will still do a much better job and is cheaper than Mark 2.

Camera

The camera quality will be better on Redmi Note 3 as it comes with 16MP rear with f/2.0 aperture and 5MP front with f/2.0 aperture this compared with Eluga Mark 2’s rear 13MP with f/2.2 aperture and front 5MP with f/2.4 aperture.

Battery

Redmi Note 3 houses a 4000 mAh built in battery whereas Panasonic comes with 3000 mAh built in. Battery performance no doubt will be better on the Note 3.

Conclusion

Panasonic Eluga Mark 2 is a good attempt however the Redmi Note 3 still beats it in terms of specification, performance and price. In fact even the Redmi 3S / 3S Prime beats the Mark 2.

Note 3 is available from Rs. 9,999.
Eluga Mark 2 is available for Rs. 10,499.

  1. Lol man!
We all know how pathetic RN3 carmera is…..low light performance in just too bad….even r3 performs better in camera.

    1. if you use manual control then RN3 gives better results. for low light, you need a real camera. mobile phone camera useless for night photography no matter what brand and price.

  2. These two handsets are not comparable at all:-

    1. Mediatek v/s Snapdragon….. A joke with MTK

    2. Panasonic v/s Xiaomi….. Lol:))…. First is a Japanese company and the later one is a crap Chinese company

    3. Panasonic focuses on quality, and Xiaomi on quantity. RN3 wins only on paper, practically its a quality-less phone and a big ZERO. Its 16mp camera is just equivalent to Nokia’s 2mp.

    1. From next time, use the phones before commenting. I agree that rn3’s camera is not up to the mark. Apart from that there is nothing wrong with the phone… speaking of quality, I have dropped my phone(rn3) from 6ft, nothing happened, and once it fell inside a bucket full of water and the device was still ON.

      1. SK… U have accepted the poor cam in RN3 urself. And regarding ur drop experience, it doesn’t comes under “quality”. Its a domain of “durability”. Feel pity on u that u judge quality of phones by drop test. So funny ?And regarding a water-dive, wt u wana say!!?? U meant its water proof!!? … Lolz :)). So in nutshell i would say that come prepared well before pointing finger at others. And, oooh yes, plz keep ur brain and manners with urself next time u post a reply to anyone here.

        1. @rubal and @sk, i didnt understand why you are saying RN3 camera is bad.! i have RN3 and my phone gives very good result in day light. use it with manual control. dont use auto mode. for night shot, use any camera. mobile phone camera is useless in night photography, no matter brand and price.

          1. I am using Le1s and my bro have RN3. I want to say that both devices are good in specs. But Redmi Wins On Calculation. RN3’s 16MP camera Is just a little bit sharp than my Le1s and color reproduction is also slightly better than my 13MP.

But the main thing is, both Are metal both r gold, Both r sexy but RN3’s Finishing and build quality is super than my Le1s and I think RN3 is slightly more eye catchy than any other devices in this price range.

  3. By comparing the specifications of Panasonic Eluga Mark 2 and Xiaomi Redmi Note3, the winner is Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. Everybody knows how good are Xiaomi Redmi Phones.

  4. I agree the hardware is good in RN3 but the same hardware, Shamsung will not be able to provide or not even think of it in its dreams. Good move by a reputed brand like Panasonic. I used their mobiles in the year 2003. Their hardware is very good along with their software. Ek review to banta hi Gogi Ji.
