OnePlus 5T review – with super fast face unlock

The OnePlus 5T is the last flagship that as of now is available in India. If you are planning to buy the OP5T then do check this review to get a good idea about how the handset performed. 5T price starts from Rs. 32,999.

This new premium handset is a good upgrade to the OnePlus 5, and the best part is the company kept the price same as the OnePlus 5. The OP5T is using same hardware.  Performance is smooth, handset is powerful and the dual cameras does an impressive job.

Key highlight is the 6.01 inch screen with 2016 x 1080 pixels resolution, now this is with a 18:9 aspect ratio and this gives you a completely different user experience. Cause of the full view display, finger print sensor has been moved on the back and there are onscreen buttons for navigation. You get more area to work on the screen and this full view display also enhances the look and feel of the OnePlus 5T.

OnePlus 5T Gaming Review

I played Asphalt 8 in high quality mode and it played well, smooth, no lags. SD 835 is well known. You can check the gaming action in video review.

OnePlus 5T  Camera  Review

Rear Camera : 16MP (SONY IMX 398), f/1.7 + 20MP (SONY IMX 376K), f/1.7,  auto focus, dual tone LED flash
Front Camera : 16MP SONY IMX 371
Video Recording : 4K resolution, slow motion, time-lapse

Camera quality is excellent, as good as seen on the OnePlus 5. But for low light shots the 5T is better. Also when using portrait mode you need to come closer to the subject. Selfies turned out great and 4K recording was pretty good with really smooth stabilization.

Camera Rating : 4.7 out of 5

Other features

Sound is loud and clear. 4G with VoLTE is supported, Jio SIM worked. The finger print sensor (moved on the back) is very fast and this handset also supports face unlock. This face unlock is amazingly fast, just press power button and if your face is in the front camera range it will detect and unlock – time taken = the same when you press power button and screen switches on, it’s that fast. Sometimes I wonder if it really did detect my face :-).
