MTV in collaboration with Swipe Telecoms has launched an upgraded version of MTV Volt, called the MTV Volt 1000. This handset is powered by dual core processor and sports a 6 inch screen.

MTV Volt 1000 is upgraded version of the MTV Volt, and just like its predecessor this dual SIM handset too comes with a 6 inch screen supporting resolution of 854×480 pixels. The Volt came with 512MB RAM but the Volt 1000 is with 1GB RAM.

As for the internal storage it is 4GB with external SD card support. The dual core processor is clocked at 1GHz. This handset weighs about 185 grams and runs on the Jelly Bean 4.1 OS. There are dual camera a front 1.3MP with video call option and a rear 8MP with LED flash.

It is a big handset and hence comes powered by a bigger battery of 3200 mAh capacity. The company claims that on a full charge the handset will provide up to 10 hours of talktime. Other features are 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The handset also comes with built in TV-player.

The MTV Volt 1000 will soon be made available in stores and via online sites like Flipkart, Infibeam etc.
