Moto X4 Vs Mi A1 comparison – which one is a better buy?

Today Motorola (Lenovo Owned) launched the Moto X4 in India. This is a dual camera smartphone priced at Rs. 20,999 (onwards). There is the Mi A1 that was recently launched, another dual camera mobile phone but with a lower price tag. So which one is better?

Both handsets looks different the Moto X4 has got the traditional Moto look so as far as design is concerned would leave that to the user depending on their choice.

Display

The Mi A1 comes with 5.5 inch screen (LTPS) with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. Moto X4 on the other hand features a smaller screen of 5.2 inches, LTPS IPS with 1920 x 1080 p resolution. The screen on both these handsets come with gorilla glass protection. So here too its all about screen size.

Mi A1 VS Moto X4 Processor

Moto X is using Snapdragon 630 octa core processor and the Mi A1 is using Snapdragon 625 octa core processor. Both 14nm FinFET and there will be mild performance difference. The performance will hardly be noticeable.

Memory, storage and OS

Mi A1 is packed with 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM and OS is Android One, Nougat, will get Oreo and Android P. The Moto X4 comes with 3GB/32GB  and 4GB /64GB options and running Android Nougat.

Clearly the Mi A1 is better in terms of RAM/ROM considering the price, cause the 4GB/64GB on the Moto X4 will cost users about Rs. 22,999.

Camera

Moto X4 comes with 12MP (dual auto-focus) + 8MP (ultra wide), dual tone, 4K. Mi A1 comes with 12MP + 12MP, dual tone LED flash, 4K. Front camera on X4 is 16MP and on Mi A1 it is 5MP. Camera performance on the Mi A1 is impressive not sure about the performance on the Moto X4.

If Moto X4 camera quality is better than Mi A1 then too the price difference is too much, if the camera quality of X4 is bad then A1 wins easily.

Moto X4 – finger print sensor, water and dust resistant (IP68) , front speaker, 3 mics, NFC, USB Type C, BT 5.0 and dual band WiFi. X4 houses a 3000 mAh battery with turbo charging support.
Mi A1 – finger print sensor, IR blaster, dual mics, USB Type C, BT 4.2 and dual band Wi-Fi. A1 comes with 3080 mAh battery (no fast charging).

Choice to be made depending on user preference.

Mi A1 vs Moto X4 comparison verdict which is better

There are minor difference between the A1 and X4. Everything comes down to the price. Mi A1 for Rs. 14,999 with 4GB/64GB and the Moto X4 for Rs. 20,999 with 3GB/32GB and Rs. 22,999 with 4GB/64GB.

Mi A1 is better, cheaper, you get stock android.
