Micromax may soon launch another smartphone called the Micromax A108. They have imported about 9,000 units as reported by Zauba.com. Looking at the naming trend it is close to the Micromax A106, will it be the Unite 2 successor?

The A108 full specifications are not known. It however is a dual SIM handset that probably might run Android Kitkat 4.4.2 out of the box just like the Unite 2. Micromax could even call this the Unite 3. Screen is big, 5.5 inches and I guess the resolution may be the same as on A106 or a little better.

As for the CPU / GPU it could be using MediaTek’s 1.3GHz quad core processor with Mali 400 GPU or if they are planning to make it more affordable they might go in for a dual core processor. The import data also mentions that the handset does come with a micro SD card slot. The import price is 5,676 and about 9,000 units have been shipped.

No official word from Micromax. The A108 will support 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. There are few more handsets like the A290 that MMX could probably launch within few weeks / months. Stay tuned.
