Xiaomi finally launched the Mix handset in India the Mi Mix 2. Here is the Mi Mix 2 review to give you an overview of how the handset performed, design, features, camera quality and battery life. Mix 2 is unique, extra ordinary and comes with a good price tag.

Mi Mix 2 is one such premium smartphone that will silence the critics who always complain about the design – this phone looks like that, that phone looks like this, same design, need something new, blah, blah. Mi Mix 2 is designed by Xiaomi and this handset looks awesome, Xiaomi has indeed created a new design pattern for the world to follow.

Mi Mix is a perfect blend,  it has got that enchanting look, will grab attention and inside its a Beast – very powerful processor, gives a really smooth experience. I have never enjoyed MIUI as much as I did on the Mix 2, buttery smooth and probably it was the design and the screen that further enhanced the overall experience.

Mi Mix 2 review

The screen is stretched up, right to the top, you get a 18:9 aspect ratio and even with a 5.9 inch screen the handset size is similar to smartphone with 5.5 inch screen. Front camera has been moved down and some new technologies have been incorporated as per the design requirements like – Ultrasonic Magnetic Sensor, Chip on film to reduce chin size and all new guided earpiece design.

Mi Mix 2 12Mp camera

The Mi Mix 2 camera quality is above average. This is good to share on social networks and looks great even on a PC screen. The camera app comes with some camera frame option wherein you can change the aspect ratio – this means you can shoot a still image in 4:3, 16:9 or 18:9 aspect ratio. The shots in 18:9 mode looks cool.

Selfie also looks good, this handset can shoot 4K videos at 30fps, and 720p slow mo at 120 fps. Do check the sample images and do check the review video. The OIS is not that great for big movements like walking and recording videos.

Camera Rating : 4.1 out of 5

  3. Gogi, Don’t you think Mi Mix 1 was lot better than Mi Mix 2!! Mi Max 1 is superior in terms of Display and battery, isn’t it. No huge performance diff, in processors though.

    1. Both handsets are good, both powerful, camera agree is better on OP5 but the looks of Mi Mix 2 / wide screen cannot be matched. So all depends on your choice, I am happy with the Mi Mix 2 camera and am buying one today, I just love the handset look.

  5. Mi Mix 2… Not very much interesting @37k. Why anybody will buy Xiaomi phone at this price where Camera is not so impressive and also No water proofing???? A dieheart fan of Xiaomi will also think 4-5 times to buy this!! Yes if they reduce the price at around 30k, then it will be interesting…

  6. @Gogi, you have mentioned camera is above average, but photos looks awesome to me. They are very detailed. Dont know whats the reason behind all flagship phone skipping 3.5mm as we the users prefer using that. Manufactures should give preference what user is need. Carrying usb type C to 3.5mm converter is very annoying or buying bluetooth headset is burden to pocket.. That stupid Apple followed skipping 3.5mm port, seeing that all companies blindly following same. (Those who want to kick a** of apple raise their hand) Here all the users shouting not to skip 3.5mm port and separate SD card slot, but dont know why they are not listening.

    1. The different between above average / excellent is minimal. For most it will hardly matter. Above average will look great on smartphone, tablets and even on PC. But when you zoom and look for minor details there is where you will notice difference, but as I said normal user will not go into so much details.

      1. You have Given Excellent Camera Rating for Mi Max2 Camera that means Mi Max 2 Camera is Better Than Mi Mix 2?

    2. Manufactures should give preference what user is need…… No… No….. No……. If yes….. Yamaha give center stand & kicker…. In R15……

  9. Again Above avg camera from Xiaomi phone. Xiaomi should start new R&D only on cameras. Whereas Huawei is way ahead in camera department. Honor 8 pro is still excellent choice at 26K(during Festive sale) or 30K(Normal price) having 6gb+128gb and 2K display with excellent camera near to dslr quality. At 36K price range no one can beat Nokia 8
